hi! We are coming over from Australia for our frst trip to wdw. I would like to stay in a tower room @ CR or possibly concierge. Is concierge worth the money? I have heard that the 12th and 14th floor concierge rooms are not that nice, is this true? If i decide to book just a plain tower room, and pay for this type of room before we arrive....am I definately assured of getting a tower room? Hope someone can give me some advice. :earboy2: :grouphug:

You're a lucky person to be visiting DisneyWorld for your first time. I remember when I first visited in 1989 and was just amazed and awe struck. I wish I could see your face the first time you see the Monorail come into the CR, it's an awesome sight! You should like the tower room at the CR and IMHO I don't think you will miss concierge service if you don't opt for it. But hey, that's just me. I have read and heard a lot of different opinions on concierge service and if you can easily afford it, why not? It's a little steep for me so that's why I won't do it at this time, maybe when my kids are older. Being from the land down under who knows when you might get back to visit the Greatest Theme Park in the World? I have seen the rooms and they all looked good to me and a good choice for a first timer! Check out the Poly though and see if that might work for you also. Good luck and enjoy the magic of WDW! :flower: :sunny:

For our family, concierge is not a necessary service; in fact, it's not a wise investment because:

We use very few PS's, and I enjoy making them, so I would not want someone else to do it.

We spend most of our time in the parks, so we are usually not around to enjoy any of the concierge lounge offerings, so we bring our own snacks anyway. DD and DH are the biggest grazers you have ever seen -- they are always munching on something!

It's totally an individual decision. If you want a little extra pampering and ammenities, concierge might be the way to go, but for us, it's not something we need.
