So much help for my first post. I am very impressed.

Thanks for all your hints and tips. I will have a better look at the show and decide from there. My 3 year old isn't very good at sitting still but my 5 year old would really enjoy it.

Yes I did thanks Reid, they're always amongst the last to come out. Usually they are both too busy chatting even to greet me!

Leanne, I will certainly be checking out the pool. My DD is very excited about the water slide and as all four of us (me DH DD and DS) will be crammed into one room, an early morning swim or two might be necessary!

We sound a bit like you -

We were not that interested in Disney, but thought if we were going to do it, we'd do it in it's 'proper' home ie Florida. After visiting WDW last year thought it was great and decided to go to DLRP as an interim trip before going back to WDW.

However, from all we've read now it seems like a different but equally great place, and this forum is really helpful - all the contributors are very friendly and have a wealth of experience to share. Can't wait to be at DLRP in April and hopefully WDW in 07.

it´s me again. Never been to the Buffallo Bill Show before and really have to admit that I don´t know from which age it is good.

Was in the SL last January and it was great. I think it is the best "Winterhotel" in the whole Resort. It has a really big Fireplace (Disney Promotion say: "The biggest in Europe". And is theamed like a mountainhotel in the USA.

We´ve been to the Pool just once in the morning and it was really empty but also quite cold.

I really felt the magic in WDW, is there plenty of it at DLP?

This had been my biggest worry too. Don't worry, it is every bit as magical as WDW! As others have said, so long as you don't expect WDW, you will have a fantastic time and will love it for itself. We have been to DLRP twice now and all of us prefer the DLRP castle and Disneyland Park to WDW's Magic Kingdom (and that is really saying something coming from me who thought I had died and gone to heaven when I saw WDW 's castle for the first time! )

Others may disagree, but l wouldn't suggest the Buffallo Bill show to take a 3 year old to unless they are good at sitting at a dinner type show for a couple of hours. Not recommended if your child has asthma due to dust from animals riding round in arena. Also from what l remember lighting was quite dark. Been to this show once in 1993 and then in 2001, first time l seem to remember food was very good, second time it was awful (sure menu was same both times), and my 5 year old didn't like any of it. Maybe it was just a bad night.

We went to the show on Boxing Night. We were seated second row from the back. I was a bit worried as I had read previous reports that people seated near the back were served cold food but ours was piping hot and we had to wait for it to cool before we could eat it. The food was OK - hot, edible and plenty of it but why they can't serve chicken strips instead of a chicken leg is beyond me. I know it is supposed to be authentic cowboy food but as you said the lighting is so dark you don't know what you are eating!
Don't know what it is like in the summer months when allergies are worse but we didn't see too much dust getting kicked up and both DH and my eldest DD who suffer from hay fever on farms were fine. We had taken antihystamines with us but they did not need to use them.
Regarding the age of children...... mine are a lot older but there were lots of young children there. Guess it depends on each individual child whether they could sit through it - my 3 year old nephew would never be able to sit through it unless we superglued his bottom to his chair!
