So I just noticed that the closing times for the first weekend of Nov are 6 to 7 pm. Does UO change their park hours as often as Disney? Is there a chance that will go later? I'm most worried about being able to eat in the park since a lot of the City Walk restaurants seem to be chains that are near us. Does it work like Disney in that the restaurants take reservations until closing time and you can eat (and have transportation back to your hotel) at your leisure or do they stop taking ressies and kick everyone out by closing time? Ditto rides? Do you get to ride if you're in line by 6:59 on a 7 pm close or do they close the lines so that the rides are actually closed at closing time.

Also, I saw @Berlioz70 's Character hunt sticky but the question is, how do I find them? With Disney being so much about the characters for girls and not so much the boys, my DS4 will be thrilled to be able to meet Capt. America and Spider-Man. I don't want to miss them. Is it true that they are the only Marvel superheros who M&G? DS4 doesn't know X-men so those aren't going to be a draw, but he would love Thor or the Hulk and he would lose it over Batman. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remember that you can eat at the hotels too. There are great restaurants at the hotels.

Batman is not in the park. He isn't Marvel.
Hulk is not there in human form.

Here is a video of the meet and greet. These are the characters you can meet.

Universal puts their M&G times in the park map. Spiderman is out for most of the day, and is pretty easy to get. The other Marvel super heros have advertised times they come out, meet for a short bit, then go. The Captain is part of that group (as is the X-Men).

Dr. Doom and Green Goblin do not have advertised sets, but they typically meet opposite the heros.

My favorite meet and greet was Bumblebee from Transformers. :)

You can still get in line near closing time. Maybe not right up to the last minutes but close.

Lots of good hotel restaurants. With the parks closing early, I'd be about maximizing ride times and just eat after the park closes (which is what we did; parks closed between 6-8 the days we went). Cowfish was tasty, it's a chain but not a big one. I don't know about meal reservations near park close. The restaurants seemed to close up before the parks so probably not something to aim for.

In the parks grills/ovens turn off 30 minutes prior to closing time for counter service places

Food orders need to be placed by then or you would only be able to order what has not sold yet

For table service, greeter at the place would inform guests what the last order time would be

If you are already in the restaurant, take your time as they will not rush you when you are having your meal

Some places in city walk do stop food orders at midnight
Hrc is one that closes at midnight

The transformers are fantastic. Very impressive. The Minions do M&Gs too right? And scooby and shaggy. Should be on the park maps when you get there.

I've gone into a ride very close to closing, within 10 minutes or so, and got to ride. As long as you're in the queue before then turn of the wait time and close up the gates you should be good.
Restaurants close 30 minutes prior. If they already have food left you can purchase it.
As someone else said the hotels have great food. At Portofino they have a pizza place Sal's. It's very good. I think we paid $18 for a pizza that fed three of us. Probably could have fed another person too. You can take a boat to boat or walk.
Jake's at Royal Pacific is very good.

There's lots of others at the hotels I just haven't tried them yet.

I don't think they ride in anymore. I may have missed it but it has not happened on my last few visits. I heard there was a instance of one of the bikes hitting another as they arrived. I can't confirm this, just throwing it out there.

Good to know! So do the superheroes just come out walking now?

I really need to read what I write before I post! I heard the alarms go off etc. but no show to speak of. They all just came out from different areas and did their meet and greets. We spent a good deal of time in the area but, again, I could have missed an entrance.
