I've been seeing comments about using a lotion called Seasafe for sea lice when on CC. Is this necessary or just recommended? Has anyone had a problem just using ordinary suntan lotion?
We were at CC on April 30th and we had absolutely no problems with sea lice and we did not use Seasafe. We had on sunblock obviously, but I don't know that that had anything to do with the lack of sea lice or not. YMMV

There is a "season" for sea lice. If you're there not in that time frame (I think something like May-September??) then I wouldn't worry about it at all. If you are in that time frame, watch here for reports leading up to your cruise and decide then.
You should probably do some research on sea lice. Regular sunblock isn't going to prevent you from getting stung. Usually they get trapped under your bathing suit where you don't use sunblock anyway. They like warm water and move with the currents so they won't always be around.
when you get out of the water ... go to the showers provided and rinse WELL .... especially the places that are harder to rinse if you catch my drift.
I've been swimming and diving throughout the Carib' and Bahamas for 40 years and have never been troubled (or used Sea Safe)
dd recently spent 6 weeks diving in Roatan and some recommended sea-lice protection there .... she followed my advice and rinsed/showered extra well and had no problems ... in 80+ dives and 6 weeks time
sea lice can get caught in folds and creases or the elastic openings of your swim suit . . . but rinse out easily most of the time. Pull the suit away from the body and rinse well . .
We have read where people have had problems with sea lice at CC and itched for several days so we didn't want to take any chances and bought a bottle of seasafe. I think since the warm weather took a while to get here this year the sealice season is off a bit. Last week we didn't have any problems.
There are 3 of us and had one bottle and didn't use it all. We got the sensitive skin formula and it was easy to put on and not a big deal. I always use the motto better safe than sorry.
Kind of off topic, but if you swim out into deeper water - be careful. On CC in August my foot touched something and I was stung (still not sure what it was). I went to first aid and got some warm water on my foot and was back outside in ten minutes. It didn't really hurt - but just a warning.
