We are from Canada and have been planning our WDW trip for a long time. It is going to be our very first one! We will most likely only get this one trip unless we win the lottery or something. I am just wondering, what rides should we skip and what rides should we do? We will be there from March 22-30 and are staying offsite. We will be there nine days, allowing two days for travel. One of the days will be spent at Seaworld but the other six at the parks. What attractions/rides/etc. should we avoid and what are some that are a definite 'must see'? I have been on the boards for a few weeks and have gathered TONS of information from here. I will continue to be on here until our trip. Thanks in advance.

CONGRATULAIONS on your 1st Disney Trip!!
Can you give us a little more info, such as who you will be traveling and their ages so we can suggest what you don't want to miss?

must rides are
Rock and roll
tower of terror

space mountain
splash mountain
big thunder mountain
mickeys philharmonics
buzz light year

Dinosaurs
kali river rapids
tough to be a bug
everest if open
safari

If it's not too crowded, I would try to ride everything!!! Use Fastpass as much as possible.

If I had to skip something for me it would be the Stitch attraction (in MK), I personally just didn't care for it.

Also, the Figment ride in Epcot, I've read where others liked but we thought it was boring - even DD5.

ALso, I'm not a big thrill ride person so I could skip those HOWEVER, DH, DS & DD love those rides so they could not/would not skip them!

Things that are a MUST for us

MK: Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Small World, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, Mickey's Philharmagic. We also usually do Winnie the Pooh & Snow White although not a must.

AK: Safari, Tree of Life, Dinosaur - this might scare kids.

MGM: Rock n Roll Roller coaster, Tower of Terror, The Muppet show, Indiana Jones show, the Stunt show. DD likes the Little Mermaid Show & Beauty & the Beast show.

Epcot: Soaring, Whatever the ride in the Epcot Sphere is, Mission Space, Test Track, the ride in the Mexico & Norway pavilions.

What are the ages of your kids? If you have a little girl you might TRY to get breakfast either in the castle or Norway. That's a tough one to get though.

Good luck & happy planning!!!!

Best of luck & happy planning!!!

You also might want to look into getting a guide book. Two good ones are the Unofficial Guide to WDW (heres a LINK to the 2005 version, not sure if/when the '06 book will be out) or The Passporter. Both have ratings and reviews of the attractions, as well as the restuarants and other activities around WDW. They also have itineraries to help you get the most out of each day. We used the UG book for our first trip and felt it really helped us maximize our time in The World. Also comb sites like The Dis, WDWmagic , and Allearsnet.com for planning info. Also a great site for tips on how to save money while you're there is Mousesavers.com .

hth!
