First Timer Question - how long do you spend at a Character Meal?

I was wondering, I have ADR's at CM at 7:20 AM and it's EMH at MK that morning. Will I make it for opening, or do you think we'll still be at CM? For those of you who have done this, how long do you typically spend at Character Buffets? I have two kids (6 & 4). I read that it is about a 5-10 minute walk to MK from the Contemporary. Is that about right? Or should I jump on the monorail after eating?

I had originally made ADR's for 7AM, but didn't realize that the monorail (we are staying at the Poly) didn't start up until 7AM, so I changed them. Should I change them back to make EMH and take a taxi to CM or would you leave them at 7:20? Thoughts from those who have done this...

Well, if it's EMH at MK, I would assume MK's opening at 8am? So, no, I don't think you can eat breakfast and walk to MK in 40 minutes.

We typically spend about an hour at the Character meals. That's after we get seated, which can be a little bit of a wait during peak seasons. It takes some time for all of the characters to make their "rounds", so you could leave a little earlier if you want to miss some of the characters. Hope that helps!!
