We are planning for May 2006, is now too early to make our reservations? We're planning on staying at either ASMo or POP, 10 nights.

We are AAA members, do we ask about the discount when making our ressie or call at a later date closer to arrival to apply the discount? If we receive a postcard or e-mail code can we apply it at any time to lock in the rate or are there dates applicable to each code?

What all do we need to make the reservation? Can we make our requests for building/type of room at the time of ressie? For the deposit is it one night's rate plus tax on the one night or tax from the whole stay they calculate? Can you pay towards your balance before you arrive?

sorry so many questions, like I said I'm a first timer on-site and have hardly ever stayed in hotels before, on our last few vacations we've rented vacation villas. I'm such a newbie to this!

When you call to make the reservation tell them you have AAA. If a better discount comes out they will either give you the better rate or you can cancel and rebook (it always depends on who you get). When you make the reservation you can make your request on where you want to stay, i.e. first floor, certain section of the hotel. They will remind you that this not a guarantee that you will get what you request. A few days before you go, you should fax your request. Check out this web page for details http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/cro1.htm. I just booked for seven days and they required one night plus tax for a deposit.

::MinnieMo You need to ask for the discounts when you make a reservation. From my understanding from reading other posts here and on other websites, you may be able to apply a discount later when one comes out. Most discounts state certain restrictions (usually dates).

I would suggest that you should first decide whether or not you want to make reservations for "room only" or a package. With a "rooms only" reservation through Disney you can cancel up to six days (some say five days) prior with no cancellation fee. You will pay for one night when your register. This will be returned if you cancel within the time frame.

If you decide to do a package deal than I believe there is a cancellation fee and within 35 days no refund. I am not sure of this. You will need to go to the website and read the fine print.

If you go through a travel agency their policies may differ than above.
This same site has more information on planning your vacation. You can also go to allears.net for some good information. I am sure there are other good websites out there as well. I just don't know about them. You will definitely learn a lot from just reading the information on these boards. I know I have. :teeth:
