first timer meal question.....

ok..here's the deal. My wife and I are going to be in the orlando area for something that came up last minute. Neither of us have ever been to WDW, so we decided since we were so close, we couldn't pass up the chance to go for a couple days. Obviously its a last minute booked trip...so my question is if it is worth it to get the dining plan when there is no time to make any kind of reservations? We are staying onsite for the two days we will be there... Thank you guys for your insight!

You can add the DP up to 48 hours before check in. Try for some ADR's and if it works out, then you can add the DP if you want. In Feb. we got CP and Tutto with just a couple of days notice. Then filled in with CS for the rest. It was a quick trip similar to yours. Have a great time

For such a short trip, I wouldn't bother with the dining plan...especially since you do not know much going into the trip. While you do save some money on the plan, on a per day basis it's not a huge amount, maybe $15-20 per day for 2 people. For example, I estimate $172 savings over 8 days for our upcoming trip with 3 of us, and that's for someone who really knows how to use it. So, skip it for this trip.

That said, you should still consider doing research and seeing if there is a particular restaurant you would be interested in. This is the place to explore to find that out. Most restaurants you can make a reservation at, and if your day plans change, you can cancel the reservation the day of.

that definately makes sense....i also figured for such a short trip and without much time or knowledge, it would be better not to worry about it this time.. thank you guys very much for your thoughts!
