Please don't get me wrong; I know pools are expensive to heat and I'm not suggesting anyone tries anything which is likely to cause damage to the equipment, nor leave the system on constantly or set it to silly temperatures. I'm an extremely responsible, considerate renter.
Maybe I didn't choose my words very carefully. What I was trying to point out is that by taking a little time to understand how the systems work, it is possible to make adjustments which you might otherwise imagine were not possible without calling out the management company. We're simply making the very adjustments they would make themselves.
Off topic.. but got to be said!!
Hi Deb,
Was in shock, horror mode

, when reading your thread, as villa owners (albeit fairly new) we certainly know the cost of heating a pool (especially in winter) and our heat/pumping system is under lock and key!!
Pools in Florida need specific treatment! They don't need as much circulation in winter, but in summer the pump needs to be on a lot more... if you didn't have it on - you'd have a green pool! LOL!! We make sure the pool is heated/circulated correctly as to the time of year/weather etc. and would be horrified if our renters started messing with it!
Back to the topic:
I was just going to mention to the OP, we have a new shopping mall being built opposite Reunion, called Ovation.
There is going to be a new Publix (yes, less than 2 miles away from the CG one!), a Kohls store, a Wachovia bank, garage, several restaurants and smaller stores.
There is also a Dunkin Donuts and Pizza Hut on the way up Lake Wilson Road!
Our community is just across the lake from yours

- a lovely area- but then again I'm bias!!
With regards to taking things.. we used to take bin bags, a small amount of dishwasher tablets, washing powder/tablets, tea, coffee.
You can pick up anything else you need at the Publix, its only down the road!
If you want to know anything else about the area, etc.. just pm me!!
I'm happy to help
Tracy xx
