We will be going to DW in Dec. for the first time as a family. SO EXCITING!!
We have purchased the dinging plan and can begin making restaurant reservations tomorrow.
There are so many places to choose from....
My sons are 5 and 2.
We want to do character dinging for our TS meals.
What are the best ones and what can we expect as far as the characters go? My kiddos are pretty easy to please.
Thanks for all of the input in advance!

Hi,
Having been last Sept with a 5 y/o, and going again in a week, here are my recommendations. First before you make any other ADRs get your lunchtime ADR for Candlelight Processional at Epcot for the 5 pm show. (You need to make lunch ressies, then they give you a line pass so that you can get in line for the 5pm show-makes not a lot of sense, but it is what it is!) The kids will enjoy it, and so will you, and you can go to Epcot late day and still see Illuminations that night, if your kids stay up that late. Otherwise, you can leave Epcot after the processional and get the kiddies in bed at a reasonable hour!
My DGS and DGD favorite character meal was CP in MK, for some reason this outweighed Chef Mickeys. They also loved the Ohana bkfst at Poly, although that was really loud and boisterous for me. (ancient and loving quiet!) Another good one is Donald's bkfst at AK, get the earliest ADR and then you are in the park for RD. Same as the early character meal at HS (we haven't been, have an ADR for next week-info coming in dining review) I like having those early morning character breakfast and being in the park first thing!
You could also get an Ohana ADR for before fireworks, and then watch them from the poly beach as well as the electrical parade.
Please be aware that the character meals are lengthy, more so than regular meals, and that may impede your progress. Also, sometimes it gets to be character overload with so many meals with them involved.
I would strongly recommend Boma (AKL) for a dinner ADR, then go to the serengeti (sp?) to watch the animals at dusk. Boma has wonderful, wonderful food, and "normal" stuff for the little guys and great choices for adults.
I am also sure your guys would probably love Hoop de doo review at Fort Wilderness. Also not characters, but a show that everyone would love. I wouldn't plan a character meal at Epcot as there is fabulous snacking and eating in the World showcase section, with the only ADR being the above mentioned one for Candlelight. Hope this advice helps. I know it's lengthy, but I wanted to include everything! Tricia

:welcome: to the Disboards!!

It is overwhelming! This board is for reviews only - so it will be moved over to the main Restaurant forum -

here's a link to help make dining reservations online in the main restaurant forum http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2276113

Go to allears.net to get a feel for menu items that will appeal to your families' tastes - keep in mind for every good review - there is a review from someone who didnt like it - and vice versa!

Character Dining for a 5 and 2 yr old boy!

Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom has Pooh characters
Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios has characters
Breakfasaurus in Animal Kingdom
Grand Floridian 1900 Park Fare has Breakfast characters Mary Poppins, Tigger, Mad Hatter, etc - Dinner has the step sisters and Cinderella and her Prince
Cape May on the Boardwalk - at Beach Club has a breakfast buffet - but honestly - its hard to get to - I'd skip it with the 2 year old
Chef Mickey at Contemporary has Mickey, etc Breakfast gets better reviews than dinner
Ohana at Polynesian has Stitch, Lilo, Pluto, Mickey - its a MUST DO for our family - characters have a lot of fun here!

All these are buffets - and mostly breakfasts - good luck!

at Epcot do either the German Biergarten for the German band or Coral Reef for a nice sit down meal - but in front of the HUGE Fish aquarium!!
