I am going to Disney from May 17-22 with my girls. I am planning on renting a car, would there be signs to let me know how to get from my hotel All-Start Movie to magic kingdom and the other parks also how to get to downtown Disney. I am going to have the I-phone gps just not sure if it is going to recognize the Disney address.

There is plenty of signage that makes it very easy to get from one place to another within DW.

A GPS will sometimes try to route you onto roads that are service roads or for CMs only. Following the signage is the better option.

Get a couple of property maps from bell services or the front desk and plan your route ahead of time to have an idea of where you are going and keep one in the car with you in case you change your plans and/or get lost. This is what they look like, much easier to read than most maps.

I agree! It's easy to miss a turn if there isn't a giant sign telling you otherwise, especially if there are distractions like excited little girls or looking at Disney landmarks outside your window. Plus a lot of the road names are similar in names. We've been to WDW almost 20x and we still get lost if we're not paying attention.

However the absolute best way is just to take the Disney transportation.

Agree with PPs...maps at the front desk are great. And there are tons of signs!

Really? I never get what I would call lost. WDW is one big circle. I have missed my off ramp plenty of times but pretty much if you keep going straight you'll see a sign for your resort shortly. We love driving around the world especially when my kiddies were small. so much easier and faster than the resort buses, IMO. but op, don't go by me. I hate buses and sorry in my experience the people at the world are n ot the most patient of people. God forbid you have strollers at the end of the night and don't get them folded quick enough.:scared1: whew talk about looks...

Use the Disney bus for Magic Kingdom and drive to the other parks. There are plenty of signs and only a couple of roads.
Good Luck All,
Joe

Traveling to and from the parks are not too hard- just familiarize yourself with the area as well as you can. Resort to resort is a little bit harder, you have to know which theme park area the resorts are located in. Ie: Contemporary is in the MK area; Beachclub is in the Epcot area. We got really lost the first time we went but were much better driving around our second trip.
