First timer at Universal - question about express

Good morning!! We are staying offsite for one week (for free as my FIL is paying for our whole trip to visit him) and will be visiting universal for two consecutive days during busy March 13th and 14th). FIL is not joining us in any park days and it's four of us, both kids over 10.

I think I am seeing it is cheaper for me to stay one night to get express passes for both days than to buy it.

Will this work? Anything I need to know? Appreciate the help!

It is the perfect solution. You get unlimited express and early admission for the entire day you check-in (as early as you like) and the entire day you check out.

Just make sure you book Portofino Bay, Hard Rock or Royal Pacific. The other two give you early admission but not express.
