I wonder if some of you could help me out. I'm confused about some of these matters.

1. I was that a store called "Ocean Traders" at (ISA) is a store where you can have your souvenirs sent to while shopping threw out the park. Can anyone one confirm this. I know at the other Universal Studios park "it's a wrap" holds your items during the day. FYI, I am not staying at Universal property to clear that up just in case it's asked.

2.What time do the characters usually come out? I think I read that there are theme park map that will have it listed.

3. When going on a ride, how long can you store your items in a locker for that particular ride? If the wait is over 40 minutes or more, what happens? Will the locker be locked when you come back to it? After getting off the ride will is also be easy to get back to the locker.

4. I started thinking of a plan attack to hit both parks but what do most of you do? Is it better to hit both Harry Potter attractions and areas early in the morning or wait a little and attack them later in the day.

5. I have the photo pass star card package. I was told over the phone a few days ago that I have to go to a kiosk when the park opens to get the card activated and then from there I may proceed and enjoy the day but to remember to come back later in the day to look over pictures and such. Is this information to be correct, I have been getting different answers all over the place. Was told that the ride photos of certain rides would go on card and that I needed to not worry about it as well.

6. On one the days I'm going to Universal I have dinner plans at T-Rex at DTD at 9 pm. My belief is that February hours the park closes at 7 pm. I am asking everyone's opinion now; what would be easier or what would you do. Go back to your hotel or go straight form universal to DTD? I am not sure Mears would drop me off at DTD and that is why I am wondering would it be easier and wiser to just get a taxi and have them take me to DTD.

Once again sorry for all the rambling about, but very new to Universal and only know from what I read from the books or told. I would also like to say thanks in advance. In case this helps any, the days I am planning on going are a Friday and Saturday. Just a foot note too, my trip is a solo one so, if anyone might be the bit interested in meeting up or free to tour the park with me and go on some rides, please let me know. I am really looking forward to hitting as much rides as I can. Thank you again everyone.

day visitors can use the holding system for their purchases in the park.

tell the TM when you are rung up that you need it sent to the main merch store up front.

when you are ready to leave the park, pick up your belongings that is being held for you.

i think the cut off for this procedure ends one hour before the parks close.

if you wait unti the park closes to pick up your stuff, the line can be long.

if you use the free lockers and your time on the ride is extended, the Tm's will open your locker for you and no charges will apply.
if a ride breaks down, and you wait in that line, you won't be penalized for extending the free time period for the locker.

As for the transportation issues. I really doubt Mears will drop you off at DTD. Only the Disney buses can use the bus area and the main parking lot is a mess, they wouldn't want to go in that area. Whether you can work out with Mears a drop-off at a DTD area resort instead of your resort, only Mears would be able to tell you that.

As to whether you should use the shuttle at all depends on the size of your group, Mears is about $49 roundtrip/person. A taxi is roughly $40 each way for the entire group. You would also have to factor in the fact it could take longer to get where you are going. If you try to get into DTD on a Friday or Saturday evening it can take a long time just sitting in traffic.

Since there were 4 of us, using a taxi was cheaper.

Never had problems with the lockers that you can use when you get on a ride. My understanding is that the staff knows how long the ride wait is, if the amount of time your stuff is in the lockers reflects approximate current wait times then you are fine, worse case you have to find a staff member to open it if the locker itself now says you have to pay. If the staff can tell you are using it as storage for longer then ride time, you will have to pay.

The ride lockers auto-program to allow for the wait in the queue and the ride time.It is usually plenty of time to wait, ride and retrieve your items. It is not enough time ( usually) to ride more than once. If for some reason the locker wont allow you to retrieve your items and you are within the time frame, just find a locker attendant to help you
