OK, so we have flights with Air France and a Castle Club room booked for the 19th to the 23rd of December. Could I have some help with a couple of queries please?

What is the best way to get from the airport to our hotel? We are 2 adults and 2 children 8 & 6.

Would it be advisable to make bookings for our evening meals? We are not really ADR type people (don't like being tied to times and places) but equally I don't want to spend hours queuing or miss out on the best places to eat?!

If we are to make ADR's can you do this online?

What would be your favourite 4 restaurants? And when can I make bookings given we are travelling in December? Also can anyone estimate park hours at that time of year so that I have an idea what time to make my bookings for?

Not sure if I have missed anything else?

Thanks in advance :goodvibes

There are several ways to get from the airport - there is info in the FAQ sticky at the top of the page under Travelling by plane , However I would say with 2 youngish children your best option would be by booking a private shuttle. this will pick you up at your arrival terminal and drop you at the hotel. There are contact details in the sticky as well.

As it will be quite busy leading up to Christmas I would say it would be best to book something even if its just when you get there. I think you may end up waiting quite a while at some restaurants if you just turn up

No you cant do it online. You either need to phone the restaurant reservation line or book through your hotel concierge or at city hall when there. You can book from 60 days before but you wont need to book that early.

Sounds good

I haven't been at that time of year, but from what I can gather from people who have, it is busy and so I would book your meals before you go if there is something in particular you want to book.

With regard to restaurants - I think it depends on whether you want fine dining/character meals/buffets etc? There is a veritable feast (ha!) to choose from depending on what you would like to do.

We do a lot of character meals as our children are little and it is a nice way for them to have character interaction without the scrums in the park (of the ad-hoc character meets). But this year as the girls are getting a bit older we are trying some more 'finer' dining experiences like Walts & Blue Lagoon.

As for timings - it is really hard to say right now as we don't know if the extended hours for the 20th Anniversary are going to continue to the extent they are now! Not much help I know!

If you wanted to eat at Cafe Mickey I would definitely suggest booking, i've not been before but the queues are always huge and i've heard you can be waiting hours/not get in at all!

But my favourite restaurants are: the Agrabah cafe, rain forest cafe (i know they have them everywhere but I just love it!) Planet Hollywood (same goes for this one) and I loved the Steakhouse in the disney village.

If you want to know what restaurants to go to before, try http://www.dlrpmagic.com/ they have every restaurant and their menus on there :)

Brilliant info, thanks for all your replies.

I was panicing slightly that DLRP operated in the same way as WDW and ADR's had to be made many months in advance.

It looks like I can relax a bit and take some time to read restaurant reviews etc.

We have not been to DLRP before and am guessing that this will be our only trip as we visit WDW regularly but just wanted to see Disney at Christmas and we wouldn't go to WDW at this time of year......

Very excited to be staying at a Disney hotel as we stay offsite when we visit Florida :woohoo:

Thanks again,
