First Timer--A Few Questions

Hi,

We're planning on renting points to stay at a DVC this time. I've got a few questions.

1--We check in Monday and check out on Friday. Will we get a maid service day? And would that be Thursday?

2--We like to take a break and usually eat a meal in the room while we're resting. Since I think trash and towels are only done on maid service day, what do we do if we have trash that needs to be taken out before that day? Large take out boxes take up a lot of room.

3--We're rentng a studio so no washer/dryer in the room and I'm not sure if we want to take time out to haul them to the laundry room by the pool to wash them. Is there an option to pay more for clean towels on the days the maid service isn't coming and if so how does that work and how much is it? Does the owner have to arrange this in advance or can we do it when we check in?

4--If we wanted daily maid service how much is it and how is that arranged? In advance by owner or can it be added at check in?

5--Studios have the small refrigerators. Is the freezer big enough to store ice? It doens't look like it and I think I read the closest ice machines are at the bus stops. Is that true?

6--Did I miss anything a newbie needs to know?

Day 4 you will get trash and towel which would be thursday.

Good question. We've always filled a Disnet bag and left it by the door. I'm sure some one will have a better answer than this.

You can arrange this yourself at the counter at check in. You can get extra towel days for a fee. Not sure how much but this can be done.

Add this at the front desk upon check in.....again I'm not sure of the cost.

Studio have the mini frig...not very much room.

I think you have the room scenerio down. Sorry I wasn't more help but others will answer better than me....good luck and have fun on your trip.

Welcome to the DVC Forums.

1--On Thursday you would get Trash & Towel service. They will replace your towels and remove the trash, that's all, they do not vacuum or make beds.

2--All DVC resorts have a trash disposal room. Its location will vary be resort. At OKW (as I am familiar with that resort), there is a trash room in each building under one of the stairwells on the first floor. Additional trash bags are normally in the room trash cans, under the bag currently in use.

3--Additional towel packs (4 Bath, 2 Hand, 4 washcloths & a mat) are $6. Additional trash and towel service is $15, full cleaning are $30 for a studio. You can call housekeeping to arrange these services. The DVC owner does not need to arrange this.

4--See answer 3. Full cleanings are $30.

5--Ice machine locatons will vary by resort. Again, at OKW, there are machines at each bust stop and and the laundry rooms near the pools.

6--Did I miss anything a newbie needs to know? The DVC owner will need to add the Dining Plan or Magical Express airport bus service to your reservation, if you desire them.

One more quick question, if we're renting points would we get free internet or is that one of the strictly owner's only perks?
