First time without kids - What do you do differently?

If you don't have a bag, you can bypass the security checkpoint where they rummage through to make sure you are not carrying a nuclear weapon.
:lmao:

Is that what they are looking for in my little pack!

We did no kids last May. Dinner at the Yachtsman Club was great. The kids probably would not enjoy it as much. We spent one evening strolling the World Showcase tasting wine! That have wine flights that let you sample a few wines from the country and tell you about the wine.

Jellyrolls is right on boardwalk and has dueling pianos that play requests. Lots of fun. We also did Keys to the Kingdom tour which until recently my DS was not old enough for.

Lots of window shopping, watch all the wonderful craft people at work. Stroll around and check out all those wonderful little places the children aren't interested in. Sometimes just sit and people watch. No rush, no hurry to get to the next ride or show. Disney also offers some great tours.

I also love visiting the resorts. There are so many beautiful gardens at Disney and I enjoy checking them out. While at a resort I like to visit the lounges. Each one has it own special drink. Sometimes just sit by the pool with a good book and a drink.

In the evenings we enjoy the resort signature restaurants. There are some great ideas here, pick the ones you think you will enjoy.

Have a Magical Trip.

Highly recommend the "Behind the Steam Trains Tour" at MK.
Best time of our trip was the "Segway Tour of Epcot" before the park opened.
Don't forget if you have a Disney Visa, you can get tours at a discounted price!

Disney is amazing as adults without kids, you get to see so much more of the details. We spent a lot of time wandering through all the countries in Epcot....just wonderful!

We strolled along the river form HS all the way to Epcot, it's a beautiful walk if it's not hot...or take the friendship boats part way if you don't want to walk the whole distance.

We also hopped when we went, because there were a few parks we only wanted to ride a few rides. AK we walked in at 9am, rode Dinosaur and Everest 2 times and left...we were on the bus heading to Epcot by 9:45!!!!

Have Fun!!

:thumbsup2 Thank you for posting this thread. I am VERY interested in the responses. :surfweb:

DH and I are heading to WDW in September for our first-ever trip to Walt Disney World without the kids. I can't wait! DH and I never went to Walt Disney World as children. After our first trip to Walt Disney World with the kids, we looked at each other and said, "Why didn't we come here pre-kids?"

We are still at the Child Swap (Rider Switch) stage. So, DH and I don't get to ride a lot of attractions at the same time (ie: Space Mountain, BTMRR, Expedition Everest, RNR, etc ... ). I am really looking forward to riding the attractions with DH. Also, we will be able to tour the parks a lot quicker and more efficiently without dragging three kids behind us (we don't use a stroller anymore). :dance3:

 We have a Walt Disney World trip planned WITH the kids in November. So, I have zero guilt going without them. However, I am sure we will come home with a little souvenir for them. ;)

:woohoo: We get to book our ADRs this upcoming Saturday! DH and I are still going back and forth on our dining locations. Any suggestions for dining at Walt Disney World without children (excluding Victoria & Albert's)? Narcoossee's is on our list. Any others?????

:thumbsup2 We'll be at Epcot without the kids during Food & Wine. I am really looking forward to walking around World Showcase very leisurely.

We are going without the kids in May. They are in college.

Dh has requested alot of food, so I booked alot of adrs and he wants alot of pool time. He still brings his laptop and is always checking e mail and on the phone etc. So after he gets done with that we hit the parks for a while etc.

I like to people watch, have a snack etc. We mostly do the shows versus the rides

I do pick up the 3 ds usually a beach towel and some candy etc.

This trip I think I want to do a little more window shopping at places I havent bothered to look in before.

I would do a cruise instead.

We've taken numerous Disney cruise with the kids and it's as if we are on the cruise alone. They never wanted to leave the kids clubs. :lmao: So for me, a cruise wouldn't be as "special' as a Walt Disney World trip with my BIG kid. ;)

Many experiences are similar to what we were thinking - we'll get to slow down and enjoy the parks, especially Epcot!

We've also added more exclusive dining and will certainly do the wine flights in France & Italy. We're also considering touring some of the resorts to more appreciate the craftsmanship and theming.

But we have not considered some of the "behind the scenes" tours so we will look into those. Just hanging out and maybe some people watching (as suggested) should be fun too - curious to see our own reactions when we spot someone else's frantic family hurrying across the park!
