I think this Wish release is the first time I have ever seen pricing available before anyone could book. Does anyone know what changed? Was it truly a reaction to the "error" in releasing the DVC prices, a mistake from DCL, or do you think they are changing tactics to hold down some of the day of release phone shopping with no intention of booking? Just curious what everyone's thoughts are.

I think it was a smart move. That will allow people to choose one or two cruises they want to ask about instead of trying to figure out over the phone the price difference between mid-July and September.

I only wish they had gone a step further and showed price by specific category. The DVC chart did help a bit there. But so new stateroom categories with no point of reference will probably still result in a lot of uncertainty among those who call in. All those bump out verandahs that sleep 5, Concierge OV, and of course those special suites! I bet they have a lot of wasted time on the time with people asking for quotes for different room types before deciding.

I would love to have the lowest price per category listed once cruise itineraries are announced in the future. It would help us decide what cruises to even look at.

Especially if they see how well it goes (seems to be...haven't seen reports of crazy long hold times) they may well use this in the future.

Having worked in a reservations office for a hotel that had a holiday dinner show package that was popular enough our supervisors got a list of when CMT would be running the commercials for it so that breaks could be scheduled around those times, the less the CMs have to begin each phone call with someone whining about the hold time, the better. We don't WANT to keep people on hold that long, but there are only so many people working the phones at any one time.
