First time with OTU points

I have 103 banked points. I want to make a reservation at 7 months that needs 127 points. I would rather buy the extra points rather than use my 2025 points.

Use year is Feb 2025. Banked points are from 2024 ( of course). Reservation is for April 2025.

Sounds like a perfect fit! Is it a particularly difficult booking? If so I might recommend calling member services and buying the points for a throw away booking a few days earlier and cancel it after the CM makes that reservation so you don’t have to “waste” time at 9am on the 7mo mark calling to make the booking then.

Unfortunately, you have to call to buy them and have a booking you want for them to book with those purchased points. You can’t just purchase them to use at a later point, it has to be for a current booking. And they book it for you while you’re on the call. So I’ve just asked them to book something random that was exact or close to the amount of points I want (in this case all 24 for you) and after the call I go in and cancel.

You might not see the points show up on your dashboard after you cancel, but when you go to book the actual stay you want, it should come up when you’re at the stage it asks you which points you want to use.
