So far I love it with fast passes and the DAS I'm doing things I never did with the GAC like going on toy story mania twice in one day I never did that because with the fast pass GAC I didn't feel it was right

That's awesome! So glad you're enjoying your trip! Are you finding it fairly easy to use FP+ in conjunction with your DAS to minimize your "down time" between rides?

It was my daughter worked out all the fast passes. tonight I got a return time for test track but it broke down so they gave us paper fast passes and crossed of the test track so we could get one on another ride. Very happy with the system

I'm glad to hear you guys are enjoying the program. The only thing I didn't like was that at WDW, they made you go to every ride. At Disneyland, they have kiosks

Second day still working great one tiny problem at Kali river Rapids posted wait was 20 minutes when I got back to my family I looked at the card he put 40 minutes and gave s return time of 50 minutes. I went back to the ride there wasn't any crowd at all so I asked some people coming off the ride they said there was no wait standby we took a chance there wasn't any one in front of us. We went on the ride and still had 25 minutes on our return time

I just want to remind people that at WDW, the person the DAS is made out to doesn't have to go to attractions themself to get a DAS Return Time if they are with other people who are able to go.
The DAS can be brought to the attraction by someone else to get the Return Time. The DAS holder needs to be there to use it, but not yo get the time

As for kiosks or going to the ride yo get Retutn Times - it seems there is no one best way. Some people like one and font like the other for each.
I personally prefer the WDW wsy of going yo the attraction, but can see why kiosks would work better for dome people

It's a good idea to look at the wait time before requesting a DAS.
Sometimes, the posted wait is short and you would be OK/better just getting into line - especially times like right now that are not busy.

Knowing the current wait yime will also help with catching errors by CMs. They should be for by it correctly, and most of the time do, but at least if you know what the wait is, you will catch the error before you have waited

Last night wait times at the Halloween party were all 20 minutes every ride we were told to go right in. Mine train was great we loved it tight on the legs and I'm 6 feet tall my knees just fit if my legs were much longer it would have been a problem

Another wonderful day I love the DAS we were at DHS went on tower of terror toy story mania and rock and roller coaster. Return times were 20 to 50 minutes they all worked out great

This is my first time using the DAS. I LOVED the GAC because we didn't have to do the tease of arriving at a ride only to leave without riding. Sounds like a damn NIGHTMARE for a kid with severe autism  (Like mine) Hope this won't kill the magic like it sounds like it will for us (cause when she meltsdown then the day is screwed!:guilty:) I thought there were kiosks so we didn't have to walk up to a ride, get a time to return in a few hours and leave. How is this going to work and how are so many of you loving it? I am GLAD to see positive things being said but I am still fearful of using this new system with our situation. I am still learning and I REALLY appreciate any input here. Going to WDW Dec 14-19.

As SueM in MN said above, "I just want to remind people that at WDW, the person the DAS is made out to doesn't have to go to attractions themself to get a DAS Return Time if they are with other people who are able to go.

Was this the first trip back since your sister's wish trip?

Did you find the convenience of DLR kiosks better located than someone going to each ride. Or was it too much of a tease for you? Would have your family been able to split up as suggested or wasn't that possible?

When it's just ds and I it isn't possible to split up and send one person. He hates the tease. GS at MK has been helpful in writing the 1st DAS time, but it's not convenient to keep stopping there.

I wonder if someday they will add the DAS times to your magic bands and allow you to use your phone to get the time.

OP did it seem like you had to wait longer then you would have because of the DAS? It seems like on so many reviews of trips people say the wait time said 30 minutes, but we were off the ride in 20 minutes. I just wonder if that adds to longer wait times with the DAS?

For the most part the waits were less then we planned. At night most rides we went right on our last night Soarin was a 40 minute wait 40 minutes before closing I asked for a return time they filled it out handed it to me and said well it's time what are you waiting for so we got to go right on

It seems like many of the reviews saying they waited longer either counted the time that they got the DAS as wait time, plus whatever time they were in the Fastpass line OR they looked at the size of the Fastpass Return line and thought it was very long.

We have used DAS now for 3 long trips. On our trip in March/April, during Spring Break, I actually took pictures of my watch just as we got in line and again right before we boarded. Some of the lines looked long, but our waits were generally 8-10 minutes. We were very lucky when we needed a wheelchair car - if you come when it has just left, you have to wait for a whole ride cycle. If you are really lucky, you get there when it is just coming. We were lucky and even with the wheelchair car, our waits then were less than 15 minutes.

We are here now and have had longer waits on 2 rides - Toy Story Mania and the Safari. If we had not had to wait for the wheelchair car, we would have gotten on both in 10 minutes from entering the Fastpass line. Our extra wait for the wheelchair car had nothing to do with DAS

The only thing that had increased our wait time is that they consistently stop the fp+ line at us to let standby go. This has been consistent at Buzz, Pooh, and VotLM. Not sure if we are that good at hitting the right number of people or what? We are definitely at mk more than most people. But odds should be in our favor that sometime it should not happen.

OK, I just re-read this post and answered my own question. Sorry.

When we went in April it was our first time using the DAS and I just explained to my son we were getting a return time bc the line right now is an hour long. Then we went on either another attraction that had a minimal wait, got a snack, or checked out some gift shops. It worked like a dream. It saved on a ton of meltdowns.
