Thank you so much for everyone's help and advice! Sorry I can't respond to each of you, I'm having some technical difficulties but I wanted to make sure you guys knew I read what you posted and appreciate your help. My daughter has been a tough one to get to sleep since birth but she will nap in carriers or in the stroller so we will give that a go! If not, we're at the
Disneyland Hotel so it's easy for one of us to make it back into the parks on our own to spend some quiet time and do what we want.
Very much looking forward to this trip now. I was nervous that it might not be able to work at this age but I think with your suggestions we will still be able to have a magical time!
Don’t be nervous.... this is a great age for the parks! I love local and have an AP. My youngest turns 1 tomorrow. He is so easy at Disney. I wear him in the carrier for rides and he will nap in the stroller. If you see your baby isn’t napping well in the parks, by all means go back to your awesome hotel and relax for a nap.
I use the Baby Care Centers in DL and DCA to nurse him. It’s quiet and comfortable with rockers. They also have highchairs if your little one is eating solid foods. I also love changing him at the Baby Care Centers because they are really clean and comfortable. I rarely change him in the regular bathrooms. If you run out of diapers or wipes or even baby food, they also sell it in the Baby Care Centers. The Baby Care Center in DCA has a bathroom adults can use, as well as a little potty for toddlers. In DL, there is no bathroom for adults so go before you head over there (they do have two toddler potties though).
Not sure what time of year you’re going but be mindful of heat and sun (sunscreen and I use a clip-on fan on the stroller) or the cold (I bring a few blankets for the stroller). I always pack more than one change of clothes for diaper blowouts or food on clothes... makes life so much easier! I also usually pack an extra shirt for myself just in case!
Don’t worry about your trip. You WILL have fun! Just follow you’re baby’s lead rather than trying to make him follow yours and you will be fine!
Some of my baby’s favorite things right now are the Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, It’s a Small World, the carousel, the train, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Storybookland Canal Boats, Casey Junior Train, Dumbo, the parades, the Disneyland Band, Little Mermaid, the Mark Twain riverboat, and just seeing, smelling and hearing everything! He loves Disneyland! Oh, and he loves the balloons! Last time we visited I bought one and tied it to the stroller and he played with it all day.
