First time with 1 year old

HahHahaha! I’ll take your 2 is hell and raise you age 3. One more month until she turns 4 and hoping there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. 🤪
Great 🤦‍♀️ We took 2 yrs off in hopes this trip will be better at 4.75&5.9 😂

It will be unless your kids fight a lot! Ha! Seriously though... not having to go back for nap and being able to push bedtimes is great. We are so close to being out of the toddler years and I’m stoked.

One thing you need to realise is that your trips are completely different once you have a baby/toddler in tow.
You can't do the same things you used to, BUT the trips are so much better.

Yes you may be in the room more just sitting around while the kiddo sleeps, but the joy you will get out of seeing their little faces while in the park is priceless.

Both our girls sleep well in the stroller but we still like to have them in their beds by their normal bedtime, this means more early mornings and in the room by early evening.
It's the sacrifice you make.

They do. 😂 I guess not as much on vacation.

They have special needs so we will still need long breaks. That’s ok. I just need my Disney fix. 😂

Thank you so much for everyone's help and advice! Sorry I can't respond to each of you, I'm having some technical difficulties but I wanted to make sure you guys knew I read what you posted and appreciate your help. My daughter has been a tough one to get to sleep since birth but she will nap in carriers or in the stroller so we will give that a go! If not, we're at the Disneyland Hotel so it's easy for one of us to make it back into the parks on our own to spend some quiet time and do what we want.

Very much looking forward to this trip now. I was nervous that it might not be able to work at this age but I think with your suggestions we will still be able to have a magical time!
Don’t be nervous.... this is a great age for the parks! I love local and have an AP. My youngest turns 1 tomorrow. He is so easy at Disney. I wear him in the carrier for rides and he will nap in the stroller. If you see your baby isn’t napping well in the parks, by all means go back to your awesome hotel and relax for a nap.

I use the Baby Care Centers in DL and DCA to nurse him. It’s quiet and comfortable with rockers. They also have highchairs if your little one is eating solid foods. I also love changing him at the Baby Care Centers because they are really clean and comfortable. I rarely change him in the regular bathrooms. If you run out of diapers or wipes or even baby food, they also sell it in the Baby Care Centers. The Baby Care Center in DCA has a bathroom adults can use, as well as a little potty for toddlers. In DL, there is no bathroom for adults so go before you head over there (they do have two toddler potties though).

Not sure what time of year you’re going but be mindful of heat and sun (sunscreen and I use a clip-on fan on the stroller) or the cold (I bring a few blankets for the stroller). I always pack more than one change of clothes for diaper blowouts or food on clothes... makes life so much easier! I also usually pack an extra shirt for myself just in case!

Don’t worry about your trip. You WILL have fun! Just follow you’re baby’s lead rather than trying to make him follow yours and you will be fine!

Some of my baby’s favorite things right now are the Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, It’s a Small World, the carousel, the train, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Storybookland Canal Boats, Casey Junior Train, Dumbo, the parades, the Disneyland Band, Little Mermaid, the Mark Twain riverboat, and just seeing, smelling and hearing everything! He loves Disneyland! Oh, and he loves the balloons! Last time we visited I bought one and tied it to the stroller and he played with it all day.

You have gotten great advice from posters. I want to add to try to keep your kids on their sleep schedule as much as possible. Keep everyone hydrated. If your baby needs a quiet place, check out Animation Academy, or head back to the room. We have seen many parents refusing to leave the park even though their child/ren were over stimulated, hot, cranky, tired, hungry, etc. Keep other park goers in mind. Have a great time and don't blink, because they grow up too fast.

And don't worry or stress about doing "everything" in one trip! (There can be other trips in the future for doing more things!) Sometime doing "nothing" with little ones can be the best part of a Disney day. Some of our best memories are of sitting on a bench sharing ice cream or watching the ducks or listening to the live music or watching the Tea Cups (but not riding) or watching characters (but not doing the M&G). Go with the flow and if you hit a groove with your baby, enjoy it! Take lots of photos (and use PP so that all of you can be in the picture together!) and make great memories!
