Hello All,

Just put in a waitlist request yesterday for a studio at SS for Mid October. Wednesday to Wednesday stay. Wed/Sun/Mon/Tue were available, Thur/Fri/Sat were not. Just wondering if there is a standard time of week that people have noticed they tend to fill waitlists, or is it completely random?

Anyone have an opinion on if my waitlist will be successful?

Thanks!
CF

Did you book Wed/Sun/Mon/Tue and waitlist Thur/Fri/Sat? I'm guessing that SS is SSR, if so you have a pretty good chance of the waitlist coming through IMO.

Sorry - Yes Saratoga Springs. I just waitlisted the entire 7 day booking.

For a better chance, book the available nights and waitlist the missing nights.

The shorter the waitlist, the better the chances of it being filled.

YES, YES, YES. Grab what is available now ... waitlist the missing pieces AND stalk the inventory to add those individual nights as they appear.

Echoing the above. You really need to grab what is available and waitlist those that aren't. It's much harder to fill a whole week because those who are waitlisting one night here and there will get there's filled first. Also echoing above, you really need to stalk the availability yourself and grab days as you see them become available. You don't know how many people are waitlisted before you, so if you see a day grab it before it goes to someone else.

Not to steal the thread, but I have a question about waitlist. The resort I wanted wasn't available, so I waitlisted the whole week. But I made a reservation for our 2nd choice resort for the whole week. Now I see on here where you guys advise to go in and grab days that come up. My original resort, WL, only had one day the whole week available. Should I:

1) cancel the full week reservation at 2nd choice resort
2) book the one day at WL that was available
3) wait list the rest of the days at WL
4) when I see days open up, do I call in to add to current reservation (1 day available right this moment), or do I just book them as a new reservation

1) cancel the full week reservation at 2nd choice resort
No.

This method works well if you have enough points to hold your current reservation and book. If you're tight on points, I would leave as is unless you're willing to have 1 n at WL and move resorts.

Thank you, I think I will leave as is.

in addition to WLing the missing nights as one WL, set up a 2nd WL for one of the missing nights (you can have 2 active WLs). if you are able to get the single night through stalking the website or that WL, set up another single night WL for each missing night until you have what you need - good luck!

Steal away ;)

At this point I'm just sitting on the waitlist for the full week. I'd rather not jump resorts mid week if we can't get the whole thing, we'll just book something else. I keep checking the list a couple times a day to see if anything has changed but everything is the same so far.

That's what I did, kept the full week reservation & wait listed the resort we really wanted. I'll keep hoping we both get major pixie dust.
