First Time Value Stay

Pop is our resort of choice! For us we spend most of our time in the parks so really just need it for sleeping, a bit of pool time and a quick bite to eat in the morning or evening.

I'd rather spend less on the (great Pop rooms) and be able to visit Disney more often.

Cannot wait to try the Skyliner our next trip! We've already decided it's the very first thing we'll do when we arrive at the resort!

I've said it before and I will say it again...I really like Pop. True, there is only one food option, but it is a food court with several stations. AofA also has only a food court dining option.
Pop has 3 pools.
I've always been a fan of the value food courts. We have pretty basic tastes, but especially during normal times when they have their full menus, I honestly prefer the selection over what a lot of other resorts have to offer. We normally only eat one meal every second or third day at the resort, though.

Being able to get Mickey waffles with strawberry compote for dinner at Everything Pop was unironically one of my favorite meals when we stayed there.

And it is not like there is NOTHING to do at the Values and they are only a place to eat and sleep.

In non-Covid times they have the Pool Activities Program just like the Moderates and Deluxes(and the Values have Pools shaped like a Guitar.a Bowling Pin,etc.!);they have Movie Nights just like the Moderates and Deluxes(they are still doing this during Covid),they have awesome Arcades(MUCH bigger that the Moderates and Deluxes),they have Playgrounds,Sports and POP have Campfires and Movies has a Friday Yoga Class and Pop Century has the most unique display of ANY WDW Resort IMO with the Lobby Shadow Boxes for Guests to enjoy(A complete look would take a WHILE!).

So I couldn't disagree more that the Values are just a place to eat and sleep.

Pop, my kids really like the theming.
In the last oct we stayed at pop and the Coronado/ grand destino. I thought a split stay was good compromise adults vs kids. As nice as our room was in the tower we missed pop.
I ordered food walked over to the food court , walked around the gift shop and the food was ready..
AOA is nice but not worth the extra price.. they are next door to each other with a lake between using the same skyliner. You can walk over there and check it out or vise versa no matter what you choose.

Hay all!

we own DVC, with enough points to go every other year with the accommodations/length of stay we prefer. Long story short, this is an off year and I am dying to get down after this awful year. Really looking to spend more time in the parks than the room so I ask you this:

what would you recommend to someone who has never stayed value? I’m considering pop or AoA.

now I’m not an accommodation snob, If it’s clean with decent food I’m golden. It will be 2 adults and 1 five year old.

thanks in advance!
We always stay at GF or CR. Decided to take an additional trip for the Garden Show in 2019. Stayed at Pop and LOVED it!! Was assigned in the 80s buidling and I asked for 60s. The only open room was a pool view so I paid an extra $60.00 and took the room. It was GREAT!! (Why 60s as opposed to 80s? No real reason except my age. lol.) What I found: Loved the walk around Hour Glass Lake each morning. Liked the outdoor areas and laundry facility. Enjoyed the decades wall inside themain building. The cast members were very nice. And did not mind the transportation etc. No issues AND now they have the gondolas. Have fun!

Also when we are out of our DVC points we tend to stay at POP. Great resort and great CM's. Only disappointing thing was the new pizza they have. Otherwise, comfy beds, clean resort and love the skyliner. Plus if you want a change of pace for foods, head over to AOA.

In my most recent experiences, the AofA food Court wasn't much different than Pop. AofA had eliminated perks that set it's food court apart- for example, they stopped preparing morning omelets to order. But I agree with Blondie 58- Hourglass Lake is a great walking experience.

It's Pop for me too. We've had 3 stays there and enjoyed them every time.

Hello-
We visit quite frequently. My family and I love AoA.
We have stayed in the suites all three themes and the LM rooms. We have stayed at Pop a few times, but it just does not appeal to us. Upon reopening we have been to AoA 4 times and will spend part of spring break there.
I really like it.😊
