First Time Using DDP - Loads of Questions!

Personally indicate not have the stamina to go all day. I like a midday break whether I nap or not

Also if it's hot I get to shower before heading out again

We will often hit rope drop, then a ts lunch, rest period and either back to a park or just dinner somewhere

That is kind of how I envisioned our days - arrive a park opening, lunch in the park most likely (or we could have stuff in the room if needed for sandwiches), rest and then back to a park. Although I'm thinking I need to keep our evening plans light - no rushing around for reservations/FPs more than necessary and trying to hit one or two things we might have missed earlier in the day. I do want to see all of the night time shows if we can, but hopefully we can still keep the evenings leisurely (with the exception of the night we go to MNSSHP). That day is going to be long.

There is a spot in online check in for room requests, but it seems the most likely way to get your requests met is by faxing the resort directly about 5 days prior to arrival. I would ask the people on the poly faq thread that's on the resorts forum for the fax number.

If you show up at tusker 10-15 min early you should be seated by 10:30, which should give you about a half hour for breakfast food. We haven't had a late breakfast there in years, but when we went they had one side breakfast and the other lunch for awhile. Our server also said of there's something gone we still wanted he could go in the back and get it.

Leaving an for a break:
20 min to walk to the car
20 min to drive to poly
5 min to walk to your room
Then the reverse after the break

So you are looking at 1.5 hours away from the park not including how ever long you rest in your room.

Gotcha. So it is definitely still quite a bit of time for travel even with driving ourselves. I'm starting to lean towards arriving at AK/TH by 10:00 for our ADR and then just staying there all day and leaving when ROL is over. We will have the reserved seating for ROL and we can do a QS restaurant later in the day for a break. Unless we just really manage to blow through everything we want to do earlier in the day and decide it's worth the travel time to go back to the Poly.

This girl just snagged a lunchtime ADR for BOG for our whole party of 4!!!!!!! When I looked this morning there was nothing for breakfast or lunch and I just looked again for the heck of it and got a lunch ADR! So I will probably cancel the PPO ADR BOG that was just for me/DD and we may arrive to MK a little later that day since we'll be there so late for the MNSSHP. Or we may arrive at rope drop to watch the opening ceremony and go back to the Poly for a long midday break before heading back for the party. So excited!

Congrats!

I would go to mk for the rope drop show and go on rides for a couple hours while lines are short, and then go back to poly to rest until the party. This would be a good time to hit the popular rides you don't get a fast pass for.

I have a question about BOG. After looking at the lunch menu and thinking about my picky family, I'm not sure how well they would like the lunch options. I still have the breakfast ADR for two and was thinking that my 5yo DD and I could share a meal, but after looking at pictures from some reviews of the restaurants, I'm honestly not sure it's enough food. I saw a picture of the Feast a la Gaston and couldn't believe that was $24 worth of food! I know everything is higher, because it's Disney, but I'm still not sure if it would work. Although I am pretty sure that my DD would end just eating a pastry and the bacon probably. She doesn't eat much.

Anyway, just wondering how the food actually is at BOG. I know that we would be going more for atmosphere than food and the ADR breakfast time that we have really wouldn't help much with beating the RD crowds.

The breakfast portions aren't huge, but they should be plenty big enough. Remember you're also getting a basket of pastries, too.
