Hi all I'm planning a trip fo Florida in June with my girlfriend. I have been to MK and Epcot before but that was 13 years ago and she has never been at all. We both love the rides and I was wondering where all you experienced people would recommend for us to visit. We will have at least one day but maybe 2 does which park is essential to visit and what would be the best of the rest. Thanks for any replies ;)

If it were just you returning again after some years, I'd say try out MGM and Animal Kingdom. However, since this is your GF's first trip ever, you've gotta do MK! It "is" Walt Disney World. Plenty of rides there (it has the "Big 3" mountains) plus it just oozes Disney atmosphere. Be sure to catch the SpectroMagic nighttime parade and Wishes fireworks afterwards!

If you do end up with a second day, you might like Animal Kingdom. It's a great park overall, but also has Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur for some pretty cool rides. Also the Festival of the Lion King show is not to be missed!

Have a great time whatever you choose!

Yeah thats what i was thinking about the Magic Kingdom because she has never been she should go this time. Thanks for the information. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated

MK is a must for first timers. It is "WDW", the castle, the rides... We like to do the MK as our first day just to put us in the Disney spirit..

I agree that MK is not to be missed. It is all about The Mouse there. The second park might just be whatever you are most interested in..... movies, then MGM; animals, then AK; science & countries, EPCOT. Each park offers a few exciting rides, but remember Disney is not like other amusement parks. You get your thrills from The Mouse, not from wild rides!:goodvibes

Magic Kingdom a MUST...then I would follow up with either MGM or Epcot.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Why do u say the parks u do? What is it about them that u prefer over the others?

If one day, go to the Magic Kingdom. If two, MK and Epcot.

MK has the most Disney Magic, IMHO.

Epcot has the best ride (Soarin') in all the parks, IMHO.

I think the two best illustrate Walt's dreams.

MAGIC KINGDOM=Because this is where the most magic is. It is the symbol of Disney World. I couldn't imagine going to Disney and missing Magic Kingdom. You have the rides and entertainment.

Ok well it seems like it'd be a big mistake not to go to the Magic Kingdom. So what is everyone's second park? And why?

MK for the sheer spectical of it all...

2nd park depends:

EPCOT; Great rides (Mission Space, Test Track, Soarin':woohoo: ) and interesting touring

MGM: Thrill rides:scared1: (Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster) small park easy to see it all

Animal Kingdom; (Itsnotazoo) Great touring, VERY differnet form the others and Expedition Everest is a MUST!:thumbsup2

Having just got back from my trip last week, I would agree that first and formost MK is a priority. The parades are great and we enjoyed Buzz Lightyear, Big Thunder and even got a sneak peek at Monster's Inc. Comedy Club due to open this Spring. From there it depends on your interests - DD10 wanted roller coasters so we went to MGM for Tower of Terror & Rock & Roll Rollercoaster. Fantasmics is worth waiting for as well ( get there 1 hour early!!). DD loved Expedition Everest and the Safari at AK - I loved Test Track and Soaring at Epicot. We had such a great trip we're going back!!
Have a great time!!

I would go to MK first and formost. Like other's have said it is Disney, when people thing Disney they think MK. I make sure if I'm going with a first timer we hit MK first.

Second hmm that's hard but I would say Animal Kingdom and Epcot run neck and neck. Epcot has more to do then Animal Kingdom but Animal Kingdome can be done in half a day.

I would say get park hoppers and do MK, Epcot and AK

Thanks for all the suggestions. Why do u say the parks u do? What is it about them that u prefer over the others?

AK is our least favorite park. Although we still really do enjoy it, it generally only takes us 1/2 - 3/4 day to tour it all.
MGM and Epcot are the 2 I suggested right after MK. They are family favoritesas well. Epcot has World showcase, and several "cool" rides, not to mention the furture things to see and do. MGM has our favorite in park resturant (50's prime time) out of those that we have tried. It also have a couple of thrill rides that me, my DD, and DS enjoy. This is also the park that has the shows my DH and DS really enjoy (LMA, and IJ).

As the PP stated with a hopper pass you may be able to do 3 parks. If staying on property you could take advantage of the EMH and maybe even able to go comando and do all 4...YIKES, scarey thought, but worth mentioning!

Naturally Mk is a no brainer. If you have a 2nd day I would say MGM. MGM has Aerosmith's Rockn Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror which are two of the best Disney rides period. They also have Star Tours for Star Wars fanatics and Beauty and the Beast musical which your gf may like. And also because their nighttime show Fantasmic may actually be better than Mk wishes. But the best advice i could give is check up on each of the parks attractions on the Disney site and see which seems best suited for the two of you.
