Being mine and my 2 girls first visit to Disney (hopefully not our last). We will be staying at the ASMovies. My girls are 7 and 4. I have read reviews about this resort, but was wondering if I wanted to be close to Fantasia pool, and as also within easy walking distance to transportation, (i know the kids will be very tired each evening on return trip from experience at other theme parks.), which rooms would any of you Disney Veterans recomend. Also being a rookie, I welcome any other advice or suggestions. Thanks in advance for any help.

You've picked a great place to stay for your first trip. One of the things we really liked about ASMovies was how well the resort was laid out. None of the buildings seem all that far from the main building and pool. And the main building houses the front desk, food court, gift shop, game room and bus stops - very convenient. If you aren't sure about paying the extra for a room in Fantasia or if you would prefer not to be that close to the pool, the Dalmations and Toy Story sections are also very close to the main building. But you may have better luck if you just request to be as close as possible to the food court rather than requesting a particular section. The Toy Story section is very popular so it may be more difficult to get. Good luck - hope you have a great trip.:)

I agree that nothing is too far from anything. If you end up in the Mighty Ducks section you can very easily walk over to the ASMU bus stop as its very close. There is also a pool right there in the MD's section.
I would request a building by whatever theming appeals to your kids the most. Weve done this twice now(gotten TS & MD), and the kids have been very happy!

Thanks for the input. I had heard it was a long walk to some of the buildings. Now it doesn't seem that is really the case. I know my girls would love the TS or 101 Dal themes.:)

Again Thanks for the tips..... cant wait to get there.

Hi jpm_wjm- This resort is so compact that all the rooms are close to pool and transportation. We stayed in the Toy Story section on our last visit. We had room #9712. It was second room in from the corner, and there was a smaller parking lot about 25 feet away from the door. Our housekeeper was "Max", every day he'd dress up our window and do amazing presentations in our room with our childrens souveniers. The kids would race to the window to see his designs and then we'd open the door to amazings designs. He definately added to the Disney magic. It might sound crazy, but I'd request his section just for the added services he provided.
