CAN ANY ONE TELL ME ANY SPECIAL THINGS TO DO AT WL, WE'LL BE GOING THE FIRST TWO DAYS OF OUR NOV TRIP , WILL BE TAKING DAD - 80 YEARS YOUNG (HE'S IN GREAT SHAPE STILL WORKS CONSTUCTION) AFTER THAT ON TO THE BWV AND THE WINE FEST .HOW ARE THE RESERAUNTS ,BOAT TRANSPORTATION, ETC. ANY INFO APPRECIATED:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

You'll have a great time at WL.

Check out all the Hidden Mickeys scattered throughout WL and VWL.

Spend some time in the rockers in front of the hugh fireplace.

Snag some snacks at Roaring Forks, or incredible edibles at Artist Point.

Take a walk to the beach; rent some bikes or watercraft.

Watch the geyser go off and then wander over to the Otter Pond.

Enjoy the boat ride to MK!

Transportation at WL is good (JMO). Buses are shared with other resorts, but WL is usually the first stop for pickup and drop off. At peak times the transportation can be crowded but if you time it right, it's not too bad. Average trip to any park is about 15 - 20 mins. which I found to be about the same if we drove it in our car. Sometimes the wait can seem long, especially if you take the bus back mid-day.

Whispering Canyon Cafe -- this restaurant is so-so and sort of loud and sometimes obnoxious (but all in fun). I like breakfast there (the all-you-care-to-eat skillet is very filling for under $10); lunch and dinner are passable, but you can do better.

Have an incredibly magical time! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

When you check in ask if there are any openings to be Flag family during your stay. If available you get to go up on the WL roof with a WL ranger first thing in the morning and raise the 5 flags on the roof. It is a very fun experience and a great view. Our kids were mailed a Mgic Moments certificate the week after we got home. I think they have a family lower the flags too.

Make sure you also check out the Iron Spike Room at the Villas-- sort of the lobby. It has some very comfortable chairs, railroad memorabilia and a warm, homey feel.

I like to walk along the walkway to the boat dock -- there are lots of birds, plants, etc. to see, plus once you get to the dock, you can see all the ferries, folks parasailing and many more birds. You can feed the birds on the dock too -- there are machines you put money in and get a handful of food to pitch to the birds. I've even seen folks fishing in and around the dock.

There is a nice white sandy beach closer to the lake to relax on. I believe there are chairs there -- someone else might correct me on that one.

Plus, just sitting in the lobby of the WL and people watching is a great time! The lobby is just breathtaking.

We liked the Roaring Fork counter service. You sort of have to watch what times you go, because it can get busy. But, they have great breakfasts and chicken salad sandwiches!

We never had any problems with bus or boat service, but we went in December. We did have to take a bus to MK once when we were going for an early PS at the Crystal Palace. The boat starting running at 7:30 a.m., I believe, and we needed to get there earlier.

Hope you have a great time!

You will love the Lodge!!!
What to do??? You mean after two days of walking around with your mouth gapeing open? :teeth:

Enjoy your trip....

Be sure to catch the Electrical Water Pageant on the Beach one evening.

The front desk will be able to tell you what time it comes by.

:)
