Make sure you also check out the
Iron Spike Room at the Villas-- sort of the lobby. It has some very comfortable chairs, railroad memorabilia and a warm, homey feel.
I like to walk along the walkway to the boat dock -- there are lots of birds, plants, etc. to see, plus once you get to the dock, you can see all the ferries, folks parasailing and many more birds. You can feed the birds on the dock too -- there are machines you put money in and get a handful of food to pitch to the birds. I've even seen folks fishing in and around the dock.
There is a nice white sandy beach closer to the lake to relax on. I believe there are chairs there -- someone else might correct me on that one.
Plus, just sitting in the lobby of the WL and people watching is a great time! The lobby is just breathtaking.
We liked the Roaring Fork counter service. You sort of have to watch what times you go, because it can get busy. But, they have great breakfasts and chicken salad sandwiches!
We never had any problems with bus or boat service, but we went in December. We did have to take a bus to MK once when we were going for an early PS at the Crystal Palace. The boat starting running at 7:30 a.m., I believe, and we needed to get there earlier.
Hope you have a great time!
