I've been to Disney numerous times but this will be a first to Universal Studios.

Cast: myself (34); BF (50); BF's son (16)

We are staying at a condo in Windsor Palms. We will have 3 days in which to try and see and do as much as possible. I would like to catch MVMCP at the MK on Tuesday (12/2). Other than that we are open. My question is: how much time is "enough" time to ride the major rides and see the attractions at both of the Universal parks? Would it be wise to purchase the 2 park unlimited ticket or would our chances be pretty good of hitting everything in both parks in one day???

if you are going to disney on 12/2, what dates do you plan for universal?
early december does not have that large of crowds.

i could never recommend only one day for universal parks.
i know there are some posters that say they can do both parks in one day on a a low crowd day.

you miss so much of the park and the rides when you do that.
it's a rushing race to go from one major ride to another and you don't see many things when touring like that.

now if you only want to do the coasters, that can be done in one day for both parks.

even if crowds are non existing at the time you go, i suggest you buy the tickets for a 2 day 2 park stay.

take your time, do lunch at mythos or at city walk, do the shows at universal besides the rides, explore city walk when you are done at the park.

Thanks for your advice. I was thinking of spending a portion of the day on 12/2 at one of Universal's parks .. opening until 2:00 .. then go straight to the MK for the MVMCP from 4:00 - ??. Then a full day on the 4th at one of the parks. Unfortunately our work schedules don't allow us to spend as much time as we would like so we have to make the most of what time we do have available.

then buy the 2 day park tickets.
i saw something on ticketmaster with a promo going on.
2 day 2 park ones.
they would expire 6 days after the first day is used.

be at the park by 8:30 on the day you will do universal.
the park officially opens at 9 but opens early when lines are forming.

you will find more rides running at 8:30 at IOA than the studios side.
jaws, T2, disaster open one hour after the park opens over there.

do ioa first on the half day.
do the studios side on the next day you return that week.

if you are driving, aim to be in the line for the garage parking around 7:45.
if you do, you should be about the 5th car in line.
once it is 8, you will be let in and parked within minutes.

you can be at the ioa entrance around 8:15ish then. maybe 8:20
long walk....

Do as Mac suggests and get the multi-day tickets and be there at opening or a little before. You shouldn't have any crowds on a Tuesday so the lines won't be a problem. Do what you can and then come back and take your time.
