My family will be travelling to DPL and staying at Newport Bay (standard room through Disney Vacation Club) Actually it will be first trip for us to Europe from USA. I have read the threads and there is lots of information, thanks!! Quick questions though...
1) do standard rooms have hairdryers and/or coffee pots?:surfweb:
2) I read about different breakfast times, do we have to pick a set time to eat or can we eat whenever we wake up? (ought to be fun waking my daughter just to eat early :rotfl: )

Our flight will get us to DLP early (8am maybe) will we be able to leave our baggage at the hotel and go to the park until a room is ready? Thank you for the help, we are just use to the way things are done at Disneyworld Florida and are a bit unsure of what to expect.

Ive not stayed at this hotel...
But when you check in you get to chose your breakfast times and yes you can leave your luggage at the hotel if your room isnt ready, check in is 3pm sometimes your room may be ready before hand.

Hope that helps :goodvibes

We stayed at Newport Bay last June. We ended up in an Admiral's Club room because of problem with our reservation (we had a pre-paid reservation and all of the paperwork but they couldn't find our reservation), so after an hour's wait, they upgraded us. The room was nice, but not spectacularly so. The Admiral's club rooms did have hair dryers, but no coffee pots. I think you can request a hair dryer in standard rooms, though. As for the breakfast times, I think you pick a time period (8-8:30 for example). Breakfast was a little chaotic, but with patience it's not a problem. This was our family's first visit to Europe as well and we really enjoyed it. The hotel was different from what we expect in USA, especially Disney. Enjoy!

mmcelwee,

Did you make your reservations through Disney? It seems like it takes forever to get a written confirmation for the reservations. We would like to have them in hand at checkin!!! Would hate to get there and have them not find reservation:scared1:

No, we made our reservations through AAA. We had the written documents in hand, yet they still could not find our reservation. They were very nice and reassuring and it actually worked out better in the end. I would definitely want something in writing. Good luck!

Just putting this in a new thread as you'll get more replies this way :)

I went with my 2 daughters in January and booked thru the Paris Disney website. I got a email confirmation immediately and within an hour had my documents emailed in PDF form. Very easy. Went to check-in with those documents and sailed right thru check-in.

Had a great time. We stayed a Sequoia but had breakfast in the park all but one morning which is definitely worth it! You pick the time at check in and have to ask about breakfast in the park if you choose this. We found they just took our breakfast tickets in the park and didn't even look at the time on it. You can enter the park 2 hours early and have breakfast up until 9:45am I believe.
