11 sleeps til our first trip to dlp. any tips for first timers please. I need all the do's and don'ts of dlp. We will be there for 4 days 3 nights there will be 4 of us me 29 oh 31 p 11 and s 3. We have half board plus but not sure where to eat. We have booked for bbww show on the first night. We have disney express but I do not understand how this works lol.

How does baby swap work and can I use it for a 3 year old?

My main tip is to make the most of EMH- assuming its on when you are there. You can get into the park 2 hrs before it opens and there are certain rides open. You will find this beneficial with your 3 yr old as you can do lots of fantasyland rides without queuing- things like dumbo and peter pan can have long queues later in the day

We dont like to plan much, usually we rush to the most crowded rides first thing in the morning and then see how it goes.

As you have kids i would suggest a character meal like Cafe Mickey as it seems popular with the young ones :thumbsup2

Let the kids dictate the pace. Ask them what they really want to do and make that a priority. Mine had their favourites and we did these several times. Don't try to do everything as you'll end up just ticking things off a list rather than enjoying the details.

We ate at Walt's, The Steakhouse and Annette's. All good.:thumbsup2

I would suggest thinking about hiring a stroller for your 3 yo even if they no longer use a buggy. We took our 3 yo last year and he hadn't used a buggy for a while and didn't think, by the end of the 1st day his little legs were sore and he was really tired. Was much better for us the following day with the stroller.

We had a loose plan of what we wanted to to and each night when kids were asleep DH & I kind of planned what we hadn't done the previous day and what we'd like to do the next.

Have fun :thumbsup2

a stroller is a MUST make sure to go to a few char breakfast you get your one on one pictures and it saves alot of time not waiting in lines at MK crysta al palace AK Donald breakfast HS hollywood and vine oh when you rent your stroller on the 1st day pay for the whole time of your trip it is cheaper and quicker

I think this info is for WDW not DLP isnt it?

You can do a character breakfast at Cafe Mickey but need to pay extra on top of what you've already paid for your hotel breakfast.
A character meal is a good idea though as you can get more time with the characters than by queuing in the park.

And Im sure you have to pay each day for a stroller I dont think you can do it for the whole trip

someone on here told me that you can't take the strollers out of the parks - unless you pay a deposit of 150 euros so we are taking ours. Could see how that could add up if you wanna pop in and out of the 2 parks or walk back to the hotel - which is why we are taking a cheapo one £20 it won't matter if it gets wrecked/lost/taken!!

My fav tip is to go to the DLH at 4pm for the character meet and greet-saves an eternity queuing to meet characters in the park and is more civilised (ie less bundling!) than is sometimes the case in the park! Also character meet and greets are usually less crowded in the studios park.

Like the others say, although it's good to have a rough plan of what you want to do, it's good to 'go with the flow' - we often found our best experiences just happened - ie not planning to see the parade on a specific day, then suddenly finding ourselves in a brilliant spot, quite unintentionally!- as it went past! (a far better spot in fact than the day we had waited for over half an hour for it) :goodvibes

Another time we walked round a corner and there was Woody, completely alone, compared to occasions when we queued for half hour plus to meet other characters. This happened once with Mickey too :thumbsup2

There are also times you can unexpectedly walk onto rides that are usually mobbed - so we learnt not to bother with rigid planning, it seems to work better for us that way ;)

Have a great time!
