We stayed at FW this past New Years and for the first time EVER since camping (anywhere), we had something stolen. While we went into the trading post for a quick minute, my wife left her fanny pack in the storage area of our golf cart and someone took it. The only thing worth anything was a cheap camera. I do not miss the camera much, but the pictures we have been taking for the previous few days are gone. There were some really special ones and this is what disappointed me most. I have always found that the camping community is the nicest and most trustworthy people wherever we go. I am hoping that it was just a kid, but who knows.
Has anyone else had any issues like this before? I hope this is not something I need to start worrying about, especially at DW.

Something like that, it could have been a kid. Small thefts do occur at Disney sometimes, but for the most part, we have never had issues.

Disney is not immune to these issues which is why it is always a good idea to protect valuables.

I'm sorry you lost the pictures from your trip. It may be worth checking lost and found because maybe the person decided they didn't want the items and someone else turned it in.

Sorry this happened to you, but this seemed like a 'crime of opportunity'. Things like this can happen anywhere, with Disney being no exception. There are many strollers stolen in the parks, also some things just go missing that are left in the strollers.

I don't think it is something that you have to needlessly worry about, but you do need to remember to never leave anything valuable in your cart, bicycle, stroller, etc. 'or' as some say, never leave anything that you would mind getting stolen.

Hope everything goes much more smoothly for your next trip! :goodvibes

Agree with others. Probably a crime of opportunity. It was easy, it was right there and the value could have been more. It's still sad that you lost the pictures. I know exactly how you feel. A different type of Crime almost took many of our pictures. Our computer was infected with Ransomware. Without going into too much detail, I was fortunate to have copies of pretty much everything that was of any value (Mostly pictures).

Sorry for your unfortunate experience. In today's world, leaving a item in plain site, the front door unlocked, keys in the ignition speaks to me....help yourself to my property. There will always be those who seek what others have and will gladly help themselves when the opportunity arises.

The parks and resorts are a prime area for crimes of opportunity. Even at the resort pools where you need a MB to get into there is no guarantee your stuff is safe unattended. Remember if you can afford a trip to Disney (even at the camp sites) a thief is going to assume you have money and are probably carrying it. If they see a bag unattended it is a prime target. It is even easier at Disney because for the most parts common areas of the hotel are accessible to the general public. This is just a reminder to keep an eye on anything of value when out and about including just a camera.
