First Time Staying at Boardwalk

This is my first time staying at the Boardwalk Inn, with my DH and DS12 from June 22 to July 2nd. I have a standard Room, any recommendations for room request. Also, is the Main pool a long walk from the Boardwalk Inn. Any tips appreciated.

I would request close to the lobby which worked for us when we stayed DVC (rented) in 2016. About a 50 foot walk to the elevator and about the same from there to the lobby. That elevator also took us to the pool level which was outside our window. The lobby is not far from the pool either although a level above.
