:beach:pixiedust:I am surprising my Family(DH & Adult DD) by staying at BWV in a Std 1 bedroom with a Garden or Pool view . This is mainly a question or comment about the room location.

I have the room booked and asked for an upper floor, but I have no idea when checking in what area is the best, good or ugly(stay away from) .
I'm thinking close to an elevator, but not so close you can hear it.:scared:

I would love have my family go out on the balcony and fall in love:cloud9: with the view.
So I am torn as to which view is nicer. How nice is the Garden view?, Clowns do not bother us.:rotfl:

I have seen MANY pictures and have read many comments, but who has stay there in September.
TIA:wizard:pixiedust:

I think we need further clarification in order to answer your question. If you are a DVC member, then a standard category means something different than a standard cash reservation. With DVC points, a standard view is never a garden or pool view.

I was just typing this same thing. Standard view and garden/pool view are completely different for DVC reservations, which I assume you are referring to since you posted this on the DVC forum.

Yes I'm a DVC member.
Standard 1bedroom(I just noticed I forgot to put in it is a Standard bedroom) category Garden or Pool view is on my reservation .

Ok, then it is not a standard category as those overlook the driveway and the very front of the resort.
I have had lovely garden views, especially those overlooking the canal and the Dolphin/Swan. We've also had great views of the fireworks at the studios from those rooms. We've also had the pool views. Although it can be quite noisy during the day when they are having pool activities, the views can be wonderful. We've also overlooked the quiet pool, and those are very quiet.
Once at check-in, I was at first disappointed to see that we were on the ground floor and right behind Leaping Libations. It actually ended up being a great location - very close to the lobby, the elevator, and of course, the pool. Normally, however, we prefer upper floors.

I think high floor will be the most important IMO. With a pool/garden view you'll either be looking at the quiet pool, the main clown pool or towards the water canal/swan/dolphin. Assuming you booked the pool/garden view and didn't book the standard view and just request pool/garden view.

What is a standard one bedroom? I've only booked one or two bedrooms, but I didn't realize there were standard one bedrooms. I've heard of a standard view, but what is a standard one bedroom?

I am still confused you booked a standard 1 bedroom or a Preferred Garden/Pool 1bedroom, your responses still say you booked both.

Did you book a standard 1 bedroom or a pool/garden 1 bedroom. If you used points the standard will be less than the pool/garden, how many points did you use for the ressie. I will say if you book standard 1bedroom and tell your family you have a pool view they will be surprised. I think your confused on room categories. BWV has standard views (cheap points) and pool/garden views and boardwalk views that have higher point value and are the same.

I on the phone with MS and she's telling me it's a Standard 1 bedroom. I have asked her 3 times , why is she telling me it's a standard, she said because it is( BIG mistake on their part). Happy with the type of room though.
I double checked and it states on DVC Member site and on the email I received(So I am assuming that the reservation is in the preferred category).

Have you linked your reservation to MDE? It will display what it is but everything from your confirmation to the points used says it's a Pool/garden view so I'm not certain what MS is telling you.

If on the DVC website under your reservations it says pool/garden view and if on MDE it says the same I'd disregard what the MS CM told you. Or call back and speak with someone else.

We requested pool view close to elevator last Feb. We got 4th floor and could see tower of terror. This year we would have had a great view of the fireworks at DHS. Personally I don't need to be close to the elevator. There are exits all along the hall and with some trial and error you can find some nice short cuts. I think higher floor is a good request. I would probably do higher floor and pool for myself.

Sounds like a "failure to communicate". All of the 1 bedroom villas at the BWV are laid out pretty much the same (some floor plans are the reverse of each other and there are just a few that are larger than the rest, though). I'm thinking that is what the MS Rep meant by "standard with a view of the Pool or Garden". But for the BWV, that is a poor choice of words, and he or she probably has never been there.

There are three booking categories for 1 bedroom villas at the BWV: Boardwalk View, Pool/Garden View and Standard View. The Boardwalk View rooms overlook the lake and the Boardwalk and the standard View rooms overlook the entrance and front driveway. The Pool/Garden rooms overlook a pool, the canal or a lawn area. P/G views cost the same number of points as the BW View. Standard View rooms are less.

From what you have posted, you have a Pool/Garden villa.

I cant speak to the Garden, BW or preferred views as we have only stayed in 1 bed standards. So I will share our experiences with that. We like to ask for near tennis cts. Here is why...it gets you basically halfway to Epcot, halfway to HS via the walkways. You may see the canal where boats go by or see the water and lawn and parking lots. But the parking areas are not what you tend to see 1st so I wouldnt let that hinder you from asking for this area. Its hard to explain the demographics of it all, getting to the front area, to the main boardwalk area, but you can use the halls or the outside to shorten the walk

Okay, this is very clearly a Garden/Pool View villa. Weird that they didn't call it out as a Preferred View but maybe they are changing their terminology slightly to avoid people thinking they are getting a Boardwalk View room?

In any event, our preference for the category of room is overlooking the quiet pool. Our view there has been of the quiet pool, Community Hall, the canal and Tower of Terror at DHS. The location is pretty quiet, and makes for an easy exit and walk to DHS.

Update: I just called back to MS and spoke with a Supervisor and she did confirm that I do have a 1 Bedroom -Preferred , Garden or Pool View.party:Thank you all for your help with this misunderstanding I was getting from MS.

In that view category my favorite location has been the courtyard looking at Flying Fish. You can see the BW to your left. It's also really close to the elevators.

Besides that we've looked out on the canal area. I don't recall ever having a pool view, but I would prefer the canal view anyway. It's a relaxing and quiet view

Those are known as the Village Green and are only studios.
