Are the rooms darker on the fifth floor because of the overhang?

We are staying in a 2 bd, where should we ask for?

We stayed on a 5th floor 1-bedroom at VWL in May, and we thought the rooms were darker with the overhang and enclosed balcony as opposed to an "open" one.

It really didn't bother us, though. . .we loved VWL. We're heading back there next May.

I think that it is part of the atmosphere. All of the rooms are decorated with a darker colour palette. Also remember that because of the trees all the rooms are a little darker because they don't get direct sun. However, I have stayed on the 3 and 5 floor and didn't really notice a difference between the two.

I stayed in a dedicated 2BR on the fourth floor in an area where that was the top floor. I didn't feel the room was dark at all. The only thing I did notice being under the eaves is that the queen bed closest to the balcony in the second bedroom had a shorter headboard than the other bed to be able to fit against the wall.

I really liked our room. It was at the end of the hallway (but the hallway was short). The balcony overlooked the walkway between the WL and VWL (so it faced the front of the resort, not the pool or water side), but over to the right was a nice view of the main lodge.
