Hello!

I am surprising my girls (5 and 7) for Christmas/Birthday for our first trip to Disney. We are military so we can get the 4 day hopper pass $169 and free tix to Sea World. Just need help with deciding on a good Room and Food Plan. Help Please! We can go anywhere from Dec. 27th- Jan. 7th (Driving). Any Help from you experts would be awesome! Overwhelmed!

Your possible dates are a mix of one of one of the most crowded and expensive weeks and one of the least.
For example, the price of a room at a value resort (All Star Movies) is about $179 a night through Jan. 3rd and then drops to $86 a night on Jan. 4th. There are great discounts (including the Play, Stay and Dine) which might work well for you but they don't start until Jan. 5th.
Expect to pay premium pricing and face massive crowds if you travel between Christmas and New Year's. It is not for the faint of heart and I wouldn't recommend it for a first trip if there is ANY other week you can go. If you do decide to go this week, please check out the crowd calendars and touring cheat sheets on easywdw.com Parks can often close due to capacity that week and you will need a good touring plan if you wan to get things done.

All Star Sports and All Star Music are the least expensive Disney resorts. You have the option to add the quick-service dining plan if you choose to purchase 2 day base tickets with a package. You should call Disney and ask them if they make any special considerations for those who already have Military tickets. I can't see them excluding military families from purchasing their dining plans. Also, you should go on Mousesavers.com and see if there are any room discounts for your travel dates. Occasionally, they offer room discounts exclusively for military families. In addition, you should go on Disney.com and request a free DVD. This places you on their mailing list for possible future pin codes.

Check out shades of greens, the military resort. Very nice and reasonable. They sometimes do their own free dining plan, though I doubt during that time period. I would aim toward the end of that time period.

Ya it looks like Shades of Green is all booked :scratchin I do know that yes I can purchase the Dining Plan with Military Tickets.

Call disney to ask about the availability for the miltary discount. You can get your room for around forty percent off and add the dining plan. You don't need to buy the tickets when you have the military tickets
