Hi!

Although I have been looking on this site for awhile, now that our trip is only 11 day away:), I decided to try and post to get some questions answered. This trip is to celebrate my 4oth birthday and DD 8th. We have been two other times for her birthday, my birthday, and Halloween, and loved it. The last time was in 2006 and we brought both sets of parents with us. This time we planned to do just a family trip with the three of us, until... I had booked what I thought was a good price for our airfare at $168.00 roundtrip from portland, on Alaska. Two days later in the afternoon, for some reason I decided to check and see what the fare was, and it was $98 r/t. Now I knew that I had bought a kind of ticket that couldn't be changed without a fee, but thought I would call anyways. To my surprise, they gave me give certficates for the difference in fare which ended up being $225.00! We have good friends who have a son, and they have never been. He has been out of work, and they needed a pick-me-up, so I talked to DH about using the G.C. on them. He was all for it, and we said they could stay in our room so there would be no need to get another room. The only thing they have to buy is their parkhoppers, which aren't cheap, but they decided to do it. They are coming for the first three days and we are staying four days after they leave. We bought them ToT tickets as well, and because they are only staying the first three days, we will still get time for just the three of us. We originally had reservations at HoJo's using the Ent. rate, but we can't get a room that will hold all six of us. They have nothing! So now we have a mini-suite at BWPPI that will hold all of us. Here is my question, I haven't cancelled HoJo's yet, because I am hoping by some small chance a Kid's suite will open up, but I also know my chances. Would the Kid's suite even work? Do I just cancel HoJo's and go with the other? Is PPI a good place to stay? We really wanted to be closer than years past at Staybridge. Thank you in advance for reading this and answering my question!

I don't know about HoJo, but I'm sure someone here will. I just wanted to say that I think what you're doing is awesome!!!! You're a great friend!

Thank you, but we didn't think twice about it. They are such good people, and always help others, so it was nice to be able to do this for them.

The HOJO's kid suite has one king bed, a bunk bed and a pull out single sofa so it probably wouldn't work very well for 2 families. Have a wonderful trip , you're creating wonderful memories for you and your friends!

Well I guess that takes care of it! We won't all fit at HoJo's, and I don't want to switch hotels after they leave just to save a few dollars. Thank you for answering so quick. Guess I need to call HoJo's!

We are a family of 6 and have done both HoJo's when kids were smaller and BWPPI when kids were bigger. The mini-suites there work well for us. Nothing fancy. Clean and quiet - especially if you get on the 2nd or 3rd floor where the I believe all the mini-suites are. Great location. Small pool. Pretty good service which has been consistent.

Thank you so much! Clean and quiet at the end of the day is what I want! And a short walk makes it that much better.:)

My thoughts exactly, you're great people :lovestruc

You can't beat the location of BWPP. You are tight at the crosswalk. I just wanted to throw in another option. Desert Inn and sweets is maybe 30 feet farther. We were there last November and brought DMIL. WE were looking for a suite with 2 baths. The best deal we found with the closest was Desert Inn. They have two adjoining rooms that they call a suite. It was a VERY good rate. Then when your friends leave, you can check out of the other room to save $$$
It was clean and close and had a free continental breakfast (we didn't eat it as we were out of the room too early). Plus an indoor heated pool for night time swims if the park closes early.
Staff was great,too!!
