first time on wait list

After booking our flight to Disney months ago at $74 per person (there are 4 of us and we are flying from Chicago), I continually checked for flights back at a reasonable rate. The cheapest return trip was $179 so an idea popped, why not see about coming home on a Monday instead of a Sunday and viola $94 flights!! We were already staying 11 nights at Kidani Village and taking our kids (dd 13, dd7) out of school 2 days. So long story short they didn't have an availability at Kidani but did at Jambo house. Husband jumped at the idea though he is not crazy about changing rooms but he was persuaded by saving actually more than $340 since fairs have gone up. Now we wait to see if the wait list comes through. Never had to do that before so not sure how likely it will be. Hopefully we don't get in trouble with school and we don't feel like our vacation was too long (is that possible??!). Come on March 17th!

Good luck on the waitlist! You may see some movement right around the 31 day mark and you might actually want to give a few calls starting around that time or a few days before to try and catch any cancellations. It seems the waitlist isn't immediate real time filling so adding in calls now and then might give you the best chance.

Myself, brother and sister own points. We have over the years wait listed a lot, or success rate is about 98%.

great idea! also keep trying to call. You may be on waitlist but you may catch a cancellation and grab it up before DVC snags it to fill other waitlists.
