This is the first time we will be using the Disney Dining Plan (free dining) and I was wondering?

-We had to buy "3" one day park passes however we already have AP's. Can we use the one day passes to upgrade to AP's when we go to purchase next year?

-Is there any type of difference in the service when they know you are on the dining plan. I have seen posts in the past that people may have had that impression.

-I know that only the entree and dessert are included in the plan. However if we purchase a appetizer will that come on a seperate bill which we can then apply our Disney Dining Experience card to and get the 20% off of the appitizer?

-I see where a bottle of water is considered a "snack" option but if you get one at a counter service meal is that considered your beverage instead of a snack credit?

Thanks

Yes you can apply the one day pass to your AP renewal.

You will receive a seperate bill for items not included in the DP and yes you can use your DDE.

The water would be considered your beverage & included with your CS.

I've never noticed a difference in service with or without the plan.

The tip isn't included in the dining plan anymore, so there's no reason for any server to treat dining plan guests differently from anyone else.
