We've been on 3 cruises (2 on Royal Caribbean and 1 Princess, 7 days), but it's our first time on DCL. We are HUGE Disney fans, and are Disneyland Passholders and go to WDW sometimes also. Also, attend D23 Expo. Huge Disney Fans.

Since it's my first time on DCL, please tell me all there is to know. It will just be me and my husband and my 7 year old son. My 19 and 17 year olds have other plans this summer.

I understand the Fantasy is the biggest and best ship, but we chose Dream because the 5 night itinerary fit our vacation schedule best and it has 2 days at Castaway Cay! Is Dream that much different than Fantasy?

Well, the Dream and Fantasy are sister ships - same size. As to whether the Fantasy is the "best" that's subjective. There are many who prefer the smaller, classic ships.

There are more "bells & whistles" on the Fantasy compared to the Dream, but the Dream is a good ship.

We prefer the longer cruises, so we've only done one 4 night cruise on the Dream. We enjoyed it, but we'll probably just stick with the Wonder mainly (still has the classic DCL look), and maybe repeat the Fantasy.

When is your cruise, as the Dream will be getting some of the Fantasy features come November, (I'm pretty sure in November).

First off, relax and take it easy. Of our 1 Dream and 2 Fantasy cruises, we experienced the best service, both in the MDRs and our room host on the Dream. Both have the Aquaduck, highly recommend.

Our kids don't do the clubs and prefer to spend time with us so we do lots of the games, crafts and activities throughout the day and night, they are lots of fun.

I highly recommend the Sail Away Party, we enjoy it more from deck 12 above the action as you can see everything going on better. After the Muster Drill head up to deck 12 and enjoy the show.

I'll leave you with that as I'm sure you'll get lots more advice, have fun on your cruise.

Our cruise is July 2015. Can't wait!

I think your best bet is to go through the threads here. There are lots of them that talk about the Dream. You can use the search function. Have a great time!
