First time on a waitlist(s)---do I have this correct?

I think I have this correct but would just like conformation because I would not be able to use 'Holding Points' before the end of our UY.

We have reservations for BWV preferred view for 4 nights in March. I was hoping to get Boardwalk view or Standard view. So, we are waitlisted for the Boardwalk view until 7 days prior (because no points difference) and we are waitlisted for the Standard view until 31 days prior. This will prevent me from having points in holding, correct?

Also, we have 5 nights at OKW but couldn't get HH booking category so we have waitlisted until 7 days prior for HH category.

Is there a way I can stay on the waitlist inside the 7 day mark since 2 of my situations do not require and additional/fewer points?

Also, is the only way I know if my waitlist came through is by checking the member site?

Within 7 days, you have to call and make the request.

Yes, you will know if your waitlist come through if you look on the members site. You won't get a confirmation that close to the trip. Some people here seem to get lucky when they call to see how the waitlist is doing. I've been lucky, waitlists have generally come through for me...here's hoping you get what you want too!
You are right about the holding points. Will you still have time to bank any extra points? Once I stayed in preferred view at BWV, and it was a studio right overlooking the Village Green. It was a wonderful location, close to elevators and it had a huge balcony. I would put in that request if I ever had preferred view again.

I don't know what the Village Green is, is it a courtyard type area?

I'm sure we'll be fine if the WL doesn't come through. We feel so lucky to be able to go to WDW at all with the way the ecomony is going.

The village green is the grassy area just behind the surrey bike rental kiosk in the center of the Boardwalk area. It is between the inn side and villa side of the BW and there are some rooms that overlook it.
