First Time off site and hoompas

Oops, you had a Rookie day, and wasted time for detail stuff Oh well, that happens sometimes. Sounds like the rest of the day was fun! WCC is so yummy and fun!

okay so the next morning we were off to animal kingdom. We hadn't oicked up a car that could carry all 6 of so E/S took off one way and we went another. Tim's GPS took us in the back way to Animal Kingdom. I was stunned as to how many old hotels are out of business down there. It looked like we were on the wrong side of the tracks but soon enough we were in the parking lot. E/S pulled in right next to us so our "short" cut really didn't help.

So we hustle thru the park as we had a herd ( yes a herd of brazilian tourists behind us with ressies at Tusker. I knew if we didn't ge there ASAP we would be stuck in limbo FOREVER.

Soon enough we were ready to take our photos with Donald

S got a call from his office that someone had messed up something really bad and that he needed to get on a call to mexico ASAP. Ummm slight problem since he didn't have international calling and left his calling card at home. Text messages seemed to help solve the problem. all i know I was happy not to be the schmuck who messed up that machine. [/IMG]

One of my main thoughts with the character buffets was that we'd get meeting the characters out of the way and head on our merry way. Umm yeah great thought not necessarily the best plan of action. Those buffets were spendy and Beth ate about $1 worth of food. but hey i remembered to use my TIW card

We got out of the resturant and realized Tim had left his hat at the condo. NOT good so guess we had to go shopping The bongos were calling Katie's name. She did really well with them until she realized she had an audience staring at her. She froze.

Soon we saw a friend's old friend

While Tim was shopping for a hat, I grabbed FP for the safari. We had about 30 min to kill so off we went on the jungle trek.

I'll bet you think this animal is a gorillia, normally you'd be right but Katie was on a kick to rename all the animals. They are now called hoompas. Yes Hoompas. Lord knows where that came from but that is the new name and she will correct you

We ran through the last part to make the safari, only to be stuck for a half hour for a some birds that had gotten loose.

I love the character interaction at the buffets but yeah, my kids don't eat that much. I think I almost make up for it though with my trips to the food. I'm not sure that that's something to be proud of.

I love the picture on the safari with the zebra ears. How perfectly thematic! And I agree with the other poster who said that the safari is probably one of the better rides to get stuck on. I got stuck in Small World once for half and hour and it sucked. At least you guys were outside in the sun!

Laura I loved your update! It does seem like the buffet just to meet characters gets spendy for kids, but the meet is fun! I love miss Katie just joining the band -so cute~

i don't know what it is about ISAW... everytime i ride it there is some sort of delay. We had one even when they had gotten done refurbing it.
