First time: need advice on connected/adjacent rooms

I had hoped to book a two bedroom suite but it doesn’t seem that any are available for the time we are going (late Feb). I spoke with a CM and almost booked a couple of rooms at Yacht Club CL but she said they couldn’t guarantee the rooms would be next to each other, but “they’re usually pretty good about it.”

Are certain resorts more likely to let you book adjacent or (do I dare to hope) connected rooms? Ideally I would’ve booked farther in advance but it was hard to get plans nailed down among our group, so here we are. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yikes! How about any of the Disney affiliated hotels (aside from Swan/Dolphin which does but they’re booked)?

They do not guarantee it, but in all the times I have gone and stayed club level with my son and his family I have always gotten one. My husband and I usually watch the grandchildren one or two night to give their parents a night out, so it makes it much easier to have a connecting room. When we made the reservation the cast member connects the reservation to mine, I call signature services and request a connecting room and explain the reason. I have done this at the Boardwalk, most often, and at the Beach Club.

Did you look for availability at the new Swan Reserve?

My husband called and asked for availability at all three (Swan, Dolphin, SR), no luck. During a second call they said that there was a block for an event, they couldn't say what event (last week of Feb). I was hoping there might be rooms released from that, but I'm not sure how good that info was because the person didn't seem to know what was going on in general. :confused3 My ideal situation would be a two bedroom suite at one of those hotels, because we've done that before and it's perfect. Not surprised they're booked up though.

Did you check the ones at the Boardwalk? They have a few 2 bedroom suites.

Yes, the CM said they're all booked at all of the Epcot area hotels. I thought for sure something would be available, and the CM gave me a hard sell saying the two rooms were the last ones available in the area... which may be true, Lol

I'm trying to work a split stay now but may have to resign myself to staying off-site somewhere truly off site. I've always loved the Swan/Dolphin, because they're nice hotels but within walking distance and with friendship boat service too. Honestly, I'd take two regular rooms there and just roll the dice, but it's full on a couple of the nights that week.

Agree with others, no guarantees but I wanted to add that "adjacent" doesn't mean next door it just means "general area" which could mean same building, different floors. It seems on here it seems to be 50/50 if people's requests are met.

Wow, there's not even any 2BR availability in DVC for more than a couple nights. I was going to come save the day with that idea, but nevermind!

So we requested it at POR in 2019 but did not get adjoining/connecting rooms. We got rooms next to each other but not adjoining-which honestly was a little maddening at times considering we were mostly family and a family friend and if we wanted to talk to someone or get something from someone else it was chaotic. It got to the point where my mom would give me her band once we were settled for the night so we could get into their room if need be

Rooms next to each other are "adjoining". That is industry standard.

Connecting would be rooms with a door between them. If that is what you want it is important to only use the word "connecting".

Disney standards are different from industry standards. They consider any rooms in close proximity to be adjoining. So you could be same building but different floor and that is adjoining.

If it is that important to be together, Disney likes to push suites to guarantee it.

We are a family of five and really like the two bedroom suites at the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek if we cannot find any 2br villa availability at a Disney hotel.

We got “lucky” a few years ago (family 10, 3 rooms) we were given 2rooms right next door (NOT connected) and the third room was 2 doors down.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as the last week of February, but here's an event there Feb 17-19, 2022:

I would be surprised that 2 bedroom suites would be booked up for events like this though. So perhaps there's a wedding or two...

Big events often have families tack on a vacation at the end of the event. So you have to figure some of the attendees will have extended their room/stay

I had a TA tell me to not book the Contemporary if I wanted connecting rooms. Apparently they have a low number of them.
