Hi, we are going to Disneyworld in Oct, and attending the Mickey Halloween party at night, I have a few questions, when do I purchase the tickets? Should I buy them before I leave?
Also, I want to wear a costume, and my kids do too! I am traveling with my husband, 2 kids, and my parents. My parents think no one will be in costume and we will look silly, can someone tell me if a lot of adults wear costumes to this party? I really want to dress up and Im hoping I wont be the only one! I want the family to dress as Alice in Wonderland.
Any tips would be helpful, this will be my first time attending this party! The beginning of October.
Thanks!

:) I assure you that LOTS of adults wear costumes. It is loads of fun. The parade is awesome. It begins with the Headless Horseman so you will want to have your spot 3-45 minutes before the start so you can see him. You can enter the park at 4 p.m. with your party ticket so most folks just enjoy their resort until then. I have been on sold out nights and it was still very manageable and after 10 you can basically walk on all rides. The CMs do a great job of clearing none party goers.

It is very festive and fun!!

If you are going in the beginning of October I think you can wiat to buy tickets. If you are going to the last week of parties then you would want to purchase them early. Weekends sell out and Tuesdays are usually better for crowds since locals work and go to school the next day.

Be sure to wear something light and comfortable. Nothing worse than being stuck in an itchy costume. You can buy light up necklaces and bracelets at dollar store before you go for kids too.

;) One of the cutest costumes I have seen is a lady dressed as Cruella and the rest of her family as dalmations.

That sounds great, thank you for all the tips! Im happy to hear other adults wear costumes, I am very excited to go, cant wait!

The parties are a blast!!

-I believe it's actually cheaper to buy tickets before the day of, not by much but by something.

-Lots of people go in costume! Adults & kids, and I find the closer you get to halloween the more people you see!

-An Alice theme is super cute!! Love it! You definitely will NOT be the only people dressed up, there will be tons, and lots at least dressed for the "holiday" if not in full costumes!

Us in 2012

We needed a whole suitcase for the costumes, thankfully we flew Southwest!

My DD 16 at the time sewed them all with clearance wall fabric and altered thrift store patterns (my Tweedle Dee top was a size 6x pattern that she drafted larger for example) her dress (Alice) was a toddlers dress pattern.

Total cost for all 5 costumes was approx. $100.

We were at the first party of the season. There were plenty of people dressed up.

Hands down it was the highlight of our trip!

We have been twice and I would say 40-60% of the adults where wearing costumes.

Last time I was Snow white, costume cost more then the 3 ticket I bought lol A present from my husband and he was the hunts man with a beating heart.
I just love being snow white for the day, So any people loved it. Cast members when out of their way to make me feel like princess. It was so much fun.

Just do it!!:goodvibes

Your parents are being boring lol

:) My parents before the party in 2011. They had a blast. The werewolf mask was a bit much for Disney but Daddy was so excited. He wore it one night at home and woke my brother up wearing it... I am sorry the photo is so big.

Does anyone know what time you can get into MK if you are attending the Halloween Party? I've read that you can enter earlier than 7 p.m. Thanks!

We went to the Halloween Party in 2011 and 2013! You will LOVE it! Adults definitely get into the spirit and a lot dress up. As a matter of fact, my dad and husband did not dress up in 2011 and were all about dressing up in 2013....primarily because so many people were...and I made it easy with Pirates!

My tips are definitely purchase in advance because the parties may sell out and it would save you $$

DEFINITELY go in before the start time....I think you can enter by 4. We went in at 7 the first year and it took a little bit to get through the lines. This past year we got there at 5 and zoomed in, got pictures and some rides in prior to the start.

I also recommend buying their themed bags...for $9.99 it is a great souvenir and makes carrying the candy (you will get a lot) a lot easier. They do give you a free bag, but we LOVE the bags. I actually purchased halloween mickey pjs for my kids (before our trip), the bag and a light up pumpkin necklace at our resort then I put them on the boys bed prior to leaving for the day. We told them Mickey delivered them. It was great. The boys use the bags a lot.

Make sure to get to the Haunted Mansion for their special picture with a ghost...my fave of our week.

The dance parties are a blast, but our fave was Woody and friends and the candy station there usually has little line. It is inside too, so it rained when we were there but that was a perfect spot and we had a blast.

I also recommend relaxing at your resort that day. We did a park the first year and went back to relax, but that backfired. This time we had a relaxing pool day and the kids ended up staying until the end.

Ok, I will stop now. Can you see how much I love it. We are planning November next year for the Christmas party but I plan on going to the Halloween one again!!

We are going to the Halloween party and at first I was not thinking about dressing up that the more and more I think about it I want to! Maybe I will figure out a costume for my husband and I!

We will be heading to the World in October as well and have heard a lot about MNSSHP. Is it really worth the price of admission?
For our family of 5 it adds up to jus under $400 extra!

I surprised everyone with tickets to MNSSHP last year and everyone loved it. The park is not as crowded, many adults and kids are in costume.

GM. DD, 2 GDs had matching WDW Halloween shirts. DH and SIL had their own version for guys. They glowed in the dark and many people commented on our cool shirts. (I had purchased them before leaving home from Disney store).

Everyone enjoyed the trick or treating too. The parade is fun and the gravediggers dance was the best.

Ok, so I caved and purchased our tickets last night. I figured we should try it at least once. I googled pictures to get an idea of what to expect and showed the kids and they were begging to go - it does look really fun! Does anyone know how the crowds are on Sundays? I purchased them for October 19, a day before we fly back since we won't be flying out until later in the evening.
