Hello all. I have rented a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath condo at Terra Verde for our January trip, for me, DH, and DS19.

We have never rented a condo before, so it's all a bit new to us.

We are flying Southwest, so we're allowed to take 2 large bags each, for free. To save money (and time at the store in Orlando), I thought I'd pack an extra suitcase with things we'll need in the condo. I'm trying to write out a list, but I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of stuff. Here's what I have written down so far:

toilet paper
paper towels
paper plates & paper cups (so we don't have to run the dishwasher as often)
kitchen sponge
small bottle of dish detergent (double bagged!)
small box of dishwasher detergent
a few bars of soap
a few baggies of laundry detergent
salt & pepper packets, ketchup packets, mayo packets (which I already have a bunch of)
a few bags of microwave popcorn
a couple of boxes of instant oatmeal
Crystal Light packets

Who else can add to my list? I'm sure I'm forgetting things. :confused3 This is all being packed in an extra suitcase, so I may as well fill it up with things we'll need. Thanks for your suggestions.

You should have a starter pack of dish soap etc. I generally just buy the things I need when I get down there. No reason to lug it all there and back, assuming you have a car (and you should.)

Double check the list of what your rental company offers. I know we were all started with a roll of TP in each bathroom and that was enough for all week, plus there was dish soap. Otherwise your list looks really good. I can't really think of anything else you'll need, unless you need dryer sheets.

Pack carefully!!! And don't forget lots of zip lock bags...great for putting things that may get wet (cell phone tickets, money etc) when you go on rides that may get you wet. Also works great for snacks and keeping the items already listed from moving around during the trip...think sugar and ketchup packs...Have a great trip!

You might want to pack a few large trash bags. Usually, the owner will supply you initial trash bags and sometimes a couple of extras, depending on the owner, management company, etc. It is easy to just put a few in your suitcase, and maybe even some smaller ones for the little trash cans. Tissues (small packs) are also good to have.

Have fun! :yay:

I see you live in SW PA. We're neighbors! I live in SW PA also!

Definitely bring TP and laundry soap! Some owners/management companies want you to start a load of towels before you leave the condo.

I like to bring some gallon sized ziploc bags. Say you microwave popcorn and want to bring some to the parks, just zip it up take it with you. They're also good if, depending on your flight time home, you plan to swim the last day. It's easy to keep the wet bathing suits from stinking up the rest of the clothes.

I also bring the dishwasher tablets, so I don't have to measure.

Depending how much laundry you plan to do, it may be easier to just buy detergent in FL. We just take carryons, even for a whole week, with about 3 sets of clothes pp and just toss in the washer every couple days. For some people doing laundry on vacation is a no-no but for me I'd rather not wait at baggage pickup.

Here is a good website for buying travel size items. I've bought from them and received my order pretty fast, considering it was free shipping. :thumbsup2
