Just got back last night from our first trip home @ OKW.
We did a 3 night DCL Bahamas cruise on points first and then five nights in a 2 bedroom @ OKW.
Cruise was nice, but too short. Using points for anything less than a 7 night doesn't get you many perks. We did not have a DVC Member sign on our door. There was no DVC member reception. So, a little disappointing in that regards but a very nice cruise. First time in a category 11. The room was a little small and I love having sunlight, so we will stay with a window or veranda from now on. For a 3 night cruise it was fine since we really were not in our room much.
We checked in @ OKW around 11:00 a.m. The room became available by 2:30 p.m. We had an appointment with our guide to look at the models @ 1:00 p.m. anyway so everything worked out fine for us.
We were in room 1330 across from the hospitallity house. Great location. We used buses most of the time which was perfect! We were on the 3rd floor which was okay except for hauling luggage up and down. We had a view of the 8th hole on the golf course. Weather was mid 80's our entire vacation. Beautiful!
Our only complaint was the MOSQUITOS! They ate us alive!
Next year insect spray!
My DD was the only child to attend the unbirthday party and she received all sorts of goodies. We used the pool twice. Ate at Olivia's. Took the ferry to DTD, which was really nice. SSR is shaping up nicely!
I could go on and on!
Let's just say we are very pleased with our purchase.
In case you were wondering we did purchase a 100 point add-on at SSR. Our FedEx package arrived in Oregon before we did! Now we have 400 points and we think that might just do it!
If anyone has questions please ask!
