First Time Home Owner, any suggestions

I am wondering if anyone had any insights into First Time Home Owner incentives. I have heard about stuff but I am not sure how to go about it. I am planning on buying into a townhome in a brand new development that is just being built. I have never owned a house or rented an apartment. What incentives should I be able to get?

Incentives are different in different areas of the country. In Chicago, certain neighborhoods are targeted areas where you get downpayment assistance if you are a first-time home buyer and purchase a home in the area. I'd check with your local City Hall (or something of that nature) to see if they can steer you in the right direction.
