My DH and I became DVC members on our honeymoon last year. Finally this August we are taking our first trip. Our home is VB, but our parents wanted to go to HH. There are 8 of us going and we got a 2 bdrm. and a studio. I've heard a lot of good things about HH so far. Any suggestions of "must-do's" while we are there? We are going from Aug. 17th to the 22nd. What restaurants in the area are good to check out? Any tips would be appreciated.

Very exciting! I hope you all have a wonderful trip!:Pinkbounc

We've been to HH a few times and one of my favorite places to eat is the Old Oyster Factory. The food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. You are right on the marsh and if you try to go right around sunset it's really beautiful. The shopping is great too.

We mostly hang around the resort because we love it so much! Make sure to get over to the beach house, it's very nice. We usually just drive our own car, it takes less than 5 min. to get over there.

    Have a great time.

Did I mention the word "kayak"? Go on the kayak trip. It is very fun and well worth the money (about $30 or $40, I can't remember). You see the area from a completely different perspective.

    Have fun!

We love HHI and have been 4 times at the holidays, once in April and once in July. We have had great 2 bdrooms in builing 31(last one at the turn around, I think or 30); had great view of entrance to Shelter Cove and saw dolphins every morning from our porch and how the interacted with the kayakers; also had 2 bdroom in builing 13, very secluded and you have covered parking under the lodge. Only place we really have not wanted to be was overlooking the slide pool for the noise level. We also love Old Oyster Factory and Scott's fish Market, right at Shelter cove. Lots of shopping to do and the beach and beach house is amazing. We try to get to HH Diner for Breakfast at least once. Pick up one of the monthly acitivities planners for the whole island and you will get a calendar of resort activities on check-in. We added points on in october for HHI! You will love it!
