Let me say I've been going to Disney for well over 10 years at a minimum of once a year; usually more like 2 to 3 times a year.

I just booked 7 nights at the now Pop Century from Christmas day to January 2nd.

I got the confirm yesterday and I'm reading it and it's got a notation on it of

1) my Disney Club # - I did not give it to them when I booked, I know that for a fact

and

2) a notation of FIRST TIME VISITOR. I admit it will be the first time I've stayed at Pop Century.

So what do they mean by first time visitor? They are now starting to track how many times you come?
How many times you stay in each hotel?

I admit I haven't stayed on site at a Disney Hotel for awhile maybe over a year paying cash, we're DVC and I usually use my points but decided to try Pop Century and save the usage of the high holiday points for this visit?

Anyone have any information on this notation?

Disney does keep track of you and sometimes makes mistakes. The last time we stayed at CBR afterwards we got a nice letter from the manager thanking us for our first stay. I don't want to admit how many times I stayed at CBR.

I am sure you could set them straight but I don't think it makes much of a difference. I am sure that info is used sometimes when people get postcard rates to resorts they have never stayed in.

The computer software is set up to make a welcome letter that is customized for each guest. Providing that the agent asks you all the questions and you are willing to give the information, the letter should be customized for you. For example, if your file says you have never been to disney or if the agent didnt bother to ask you then your confirmation will print out something like 'since its your first time to wdw' or if you have been here before it will say something like 'welcome back' also seeing that on your file would help the agent know that you are very familiar with the property or maybe just a little or maybe not familiar at all. There is a method to the madness even though it may seem like your taking a survey.

Disney has been keeping track of your visits for years. On my confirmations there is always a notation that says Frequent guest, please honor building requests. I can't imagine visiting any hotel and them not keeping track of you. When we drive to WDW we always stay at a certain hotel. They have all my info in their computer and all room requests too.

I just checked my confirmation letter and there are no stray notes outside the norm. Mickey

Thats because it has nothing to do with the "confirmation" it is a welcome letter that you receive about 14 days after you make the reservation.

This was not a welcome letter. It was my confirmation of room reservation with a notation of first night due by August 9th.

I've never gotten a welcome letter so I know it isn't that. Mine are confirmation letters. Even if I change my reservation for some reason like ask for non smoking or change the date then they send me another confirmation with the new info. On all of my confirmation letters is says that I am a frequent guest. Whenever I call to make a reservation the CM pulls up my info and always comments on the frequent guest part and how it says that they should grant my requests. Who gets a welcome letter anyway? I want one of those too! LOL!

I get welcome letters skiwee1, and they're really kind of funny because they tell us things like "Buy Park Hopper Plusses," or discover Downtown Disney. It is kind of nice, but the info is basic, and nothing any Diser's need. Last year, we got a welcome letter for the Caribbean Beach, which of course was closed for rehab. That was probably the funniest.

I think they are a little ditzie at CRO right now. I made AP reservations and there is nothing on the ressie that says that. I have done this lots of times and it is always on there. We have been to the POly alot it is the place we stay the most. They ask me about the one time I stayed at DW with my firend at CBR when ever I call to make a reservation lately. That was 2 years ago and we stayed for 4 days. I have gone with my family to the Poly every summer for 17 years and the only thing they have on file abouit me is the stay I had with Jayne Jones. Very wierd.
