Brief History:
We have visited WDW several times and LOVE all things Disney
.On Booking WDW for Aug 2008 we got free Eurostar tickets to be used by the end of July 07. Never one to miss the chance to get a Disney fix I promptly booked a 4 night stay at the Explorers hotel receiving NHS discount. As we could only get the train direct to Paris we contacted BS shuttle to transfer us to the hotel.
Lots of advice received from the dis
we purchased shares and decided annual passes the best bet for our stay.
Sun 29th July
We woke at 6am to get the last minute loading of the car etc. done. Breakfast and organized we set off at 845 am for our drive down to Ashford to stay in the Travelodge overnight. Living in sunny Southport meant a long journey ahead.
The drive down was much better than expected and 2 15pm we arrived at our hotel after a lengthy food stop enroute.
A short wait for the receptionist to appear we were given 2 family rooms (joy of family of 5!) but at £26 per room it was still worth the price . One room had a lovely view over the small lake the other a car park !
We aimed to have been at our room by 3pm to see our beloved Wigan RL play in their semi final with a chance to play St Helens in the Wembley final. Needless to say we were beaten
which saved us the panic of getting final tickets which would have gone on sale whilst we were away.
Dejected after our defeat we walked around the leisure estate and watched Transformers at the cinema.
Tired and hungry we got back to our room for 9pm to eat Pot Noodles, drink booze and get some rest ready for our second half of the journey tomorrow.
